NYU Stern vs California Polytechnic State University

NYU

Hello, so I just got off the waitlist into the BPE program, I dont know how, my unweighted gpa was a 3.5, my class rank was 220 out of 552, and my sat score was a 1440.

oh yeah, keep in mind my high school class is 80% Asian.

Will I not be smart enough to do well at stern? because I know that I want to get at least a 3.3 to be competitive for most elite business schools, and I really think it will be hard to be in the top 20 % of each class.

Nyu costs me a lot I have no finaid, and will grad with anywhere from 25-60 k in loans :(

Cal POly- Damn good cheap engineering degree

I have also heard that MBA programs like a strong engineering base so that the students will have honed their critical thinking skills.

0 DEBT WHEN I GRADUATE. parents can pay for all of it and I am not a burden tot he family

Alright so I want to do business, but I feel I will do better academically at Cal Poly and will have got some "Skills" that I can use later in life, by skill I mean engineering. I am really attracted to Stern, but I am not sure that I can handle the curve, can some NYU stern student just tell me it is not too bad, or will someone tell me that with my gpa and class rank i will fail at stern.

Will being in the BPE mean that the stern curve is implemented in shangahi and london, cause almost half of my education will be abroad?

ANd I think academically for BPE, i may not be the smartest.

bump it up

the curve is fine. It will be a lot harder to keep a competitive GPA in a public engineering program than at a private business school.

Yeah, the thing is at the public engineering program my sat score is like 200 points above the average, while at stern it is the average, a 1440. So i think id be smarter at the public engineerin.

what you wanna do? engineering or business?
