NYU Stern vs. UCLA

I know these are two drastically different schools, but there are different things I'd like to consider. My main reasons for going to either school:

Stern: Internship opportunities; Stern > UCLA academy-wise; it's in NYC (lots to do there). Good alumni network.

UCLA: It's in Cali! Sunny beaches etc. Also IT HAS A CAMPUS, and it seems less stressful than NYU.

So basically NYU = paving better path for future, but UCLA = happier.

Any suggestions? Is NYU Stern really competitive? Is it true that it's harder to make friends there since there's no campus for everyone to stay in? Are you guys HAPPY? Haha :D

Thanks!

If it’s connections you’re looking for, NYU and LA are both huge cities and have relatively successful people in both. But who would be looking for connections when you’re 18! I have friends who got accepted into both schools, and I would tell them to pick UCLA any day. I think UCLA can pile you with enough work to keep you busy, and you can have fun while you’re at it.

So. UCLA!

NYU Stern is ridiculously competitive. Ask anyone who is currently in it. While NYU does “pave a better path for your future,” it’s not so much better that it’s worth trading your potential happiness for the next four years for. UCLA.
