NYU Stern vs. Villanova School of Business, G-Town Mcdonough

I want to major in finance and am stuck between Stern, Villanova (which actually has a nice business school with 10% acceptance rate this year), and G-town. Stern has a great program and curriculum, but I hear that it's overwhelming and that students are unhappy. Villanova SB has gotten a lot better in the past couple of years and will probably continue to get better (#11 this year according to B-week). It has a nice campus, but it sort of lacks the heavy-hitter name. Georgetown has an awesome campus and location, but Mcdonough seems to have been slipping (#24). Rankings don't mean too much but i'm a little paranoid right about now....I am also considering Haverford College to add to my confusion.

i’m a little confused. . . were you accepted to these schools already? your last sentence threw me off, as if you are thinking of merely applying.

if they already accepted you. . .

who gave you more money?

have you visited all three?

can you see yourself happy at any of them? or are you more worried about the curriculum?

ya…i’m in all. They all gave me about the same, except for Haverford which gave me 10k more per year. I have visited all. I like aspects of all of them. I just don’t know academically which would be better.

Hmmm, this is tough. I would rule out Georgetown completely. I intern at Merrill Lynch, and no one is a Georgetown graduate. I would probably pick Stern out of them, however, Villanova is top notch. Stern wins overall however.

how intense is Stern? is it really math oriented? do people know about villanova?

Yeah, Villanova is pretty good, but it does not beat Stern for ibanking. NYU has the number one applied mathematics program too.

with wall street, NYU will always be the top place for internship, recruits, and other educational availabilities…not to mention its finance department being like top 2(next to the Whart)

Courant is too hard and crazy. Go there if you want a challenge and you like applied mathematics. Trust me, I am a math major. On the good side, the professors have good connections and can serve as your research advisors (for those who are applying for doctorates after finish their undergraduate studies.).
