NYU STERN what can i do to better my chances

I want to start of by saying i only just finished my first semester of sophomore year. I haven't taken a sat yet and i plan to work hard to do well on my sat but as far as High school classes and ECS go here is what it looks like.

Freshman year: I basically didn't take freshman year all too seriously because i was dumb and for some reason thought my future would just fall into place magically. I took no honors or AP classes and i didn't do all to well in the normal classes i took.
I finished the year with a 3.0 GPA unweighted.

Sophomore year: I am taking all honors classes this year and one AP class and i have A or B+ in every class and right now my weighted gpa is at a 4.0 and my unweighted is at about 3.5-3.6.

Junior year: i plan to be taking 4 APs and 1 honors and i will try to achieve a 3.8 GPA unweighted.

Senior year: i will finish all of the APs that my school offers and get all A.

ECs so far: These are mine so far i will bump these up a LOT i will try to join national honor society and hopefully 4 more clubs that i will hold leadership positions in some of.I aim to have 100+ hours of community service in by end of junior year.

Italian club (sophomore year-senior year)
economics club(sophomore year-senior year)
Football team(Freshmen-sophmore year)
lacrosse team(freshmen-junior year)

Other things to consider:
I have a HUGE improvement in grades and difficulty of classes and interest in school and ECs starting sophomore year.
My parents can afford the school.
I have not taken my SAT yet but i plan to try to take it multiple times until i get around a 2200.
I will do lots of community service around my community,
I will get internships in places around my area.

I KNOW that as of right now i will NOT be accepted to NYU with these stats what are somethings that i can do to better my chances of getting into Stern.
Thanks to whoever posts for your input.

Dont be shy on telling me what i am doing wrong and what i can do better at.

The freshman year could hurt you but it does look good that you showing progression in your grades. Colleges love this. Continue your ec’s and work hard, you will have a decent shot at getting in.

Focus on the math section of your SATs the most to make sure that you get a high score there.
Make sure that you are taking calculus or the highest level of math possible. Take subject tests that are in the math or science areas.
Focus on your grades and make sure to do your best. GPA and SAT are the two most important factors for Stern.
If you can, try doing something outside of school that shows leadership, initiative, or creativity. Start a club, organize a fundraiser, see if you can get an internship or job in an area related to what you want to study. If you can, get some experience in business.
Remember that getting into college can be pretty random, and Stern is a very competitive school. Even qualified students can get rejected. So just keep in mind that even if you do all these things, you could still get rejected. Have other schools in mind that you would also like to go to.
Good luck!

Something that nobody else is gonna have the stones to say, so I’ll say it: Even if you don’t get in the first time around, try again during your freshman year of college elsewhere. I’ve found that when it comes to Stern, all is forgiven if you had a stellar freshman year somewhere else. I know people there who went to community college or lower tier universities their first year for that exact purpose. It’s not ideal, but I’m pointing it out as a possibility, as getting into Stern the first time around is exceedingly difficult.
