Hey guys,
I’ve been accepted into NYU Stern School of Business. I know this is a very strong school but I hear that it is really strong in terms of finance and puts heavy focus on that. Is this true? Finance is not an aspect of business I’m interested in, I’m more leaning towards either Marketing or International Business. Would NYU be a good fit for me?

Hi I’m an NYU Stern Finance and Management major with minor in BEMT (Business, Entertainment, Media and Technology). My marketing professors are some of my most creative and insightful teachers. The presentation skills and real world scenarios help with interviews as well for internships. Good Luck whichever college you decide on and congrats on NYU!!!

@aadeyemi Hi, I haven’t been into college confidential for a while. Just a quick note my son he is a rising sophomore (class of 2023) at NYU Stern BPE program and he plans to minor in math. He loves this program. It is a small group and 20% to 30% student enrolled in BPE transferred to other Stern program like Finance and others. He has not taken any Finance class so we can’t comment whether he likes it or not. My son like BPE because most the classes are small and the professor is engagaing in class discussion if you like class discussion. Let’s be honest most classes are strongly depend on whether the professor. Once you know other student you will get a sense of which professor you want to take.
For the BPE program you are required to study abroad in your second year. Due to Covid now the plan is to go to DC for the Fall semester. However, this can be change anytime. My son likes to travel this is why he likes this program.
As for intern, my son was able to get 2 summer interns - one with a UK IB firm in midtown one with a media company also in mid town. However, due to covid it has to been cancelled now.
As for Finance, yes many student at Stern are majoring in this area. It is a very competitive program.
I hope this answer your question. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Good luck.
@bigdad930 The OP would have made a decision already and hasn’t been on CC since April. Closing thread.
