Just wondering if the experience anyone has had was worth the price of this summer camp? Also, did it help prepare you for college MT auditions? My daughter has been accepted but I don’t have a lot of details about what classes they will be taking, if they get private voice lessons, or how many dance classes there are? Thank you!
I think it was worth the price. I’ll know better tomorrow.
Daughter did it 2 summers ago as rising junior. Confirmed that she wanted to major in MT. She loved the Washington Square area. Saw 10+ Broadway shows in 4 weeks. Enjoyed the instructors including Randy Graff (originated the role of Fantine in the musical Les Misérables) for voice. No private voice lessons. Believe they danced every day.
Helped in general for MT auditions but not specifically. She had local voice/acting coaches and we worked with MTCA for dance, master classes & their mock audition.
She auditioned for NYU Tisch in January and we’ll get the decision tomorrow. We were told that a summer program review is placed in their file. Feel better that the artistic decision is based in part on 4 weeks of experience with her instead of just 8-10 minutes in the audition room. If she gets in, the 6 credits earned will have some value.
