NYU transfer chance?

My stat.
College GPA: at current college 3.87
gpa calculated with college courses taken during HS: 3.74

SAT (NYU does not allow me to re-take SAT) : best. verbal 500
math 710

SATII: writing 560
mathIIC 740
Chem 720
Korean 800

HS gpa: 3.5 (approximately)

My two biggest concerns are 1) college course taken during HS . I took calculus courses during HS and passed with B and B-. I called NYU and asked them if they include those grades to gpa, and they said they won't and they will look more on my gpa from current college.

second concerns is my high school record. as you see it...

I am currently attending UCD.

NYU admission staff said average gpa for accepted transfer student is 3.4~5.

I will be applying as chem. major, not stern or drama.

Do you think i am aiming too high?

Main reason i want to transfer is location.

You could possibly make it in, your college GPA is high enough. Good luck!

I think you have a shot. Friends of mine who've gone to NYU from high school had higher HS GPAs than you do, but you've done really well so far in college, and schools like to see improvement. Furthermore, if you're declaring as a chem major, I doubt they'll be paying AS MUCH attention to your writing scores since your math/science scores are so much better.

Good luck. :)
