NYU Transfer Thread - Fall 2010

Haha okay I wont ask. And youre extremely lucky to realize the value of a good degree.
I do hope you get in. Did you work just as hard on you recs and essays?

yea i organic chem professor shich is the highest in the chemistry there is at my school wrote me my rec and i worked on my essay for a couple weeks and had my sis who is an english major at emory revise it. I try not to do a mediocre job with my work now. Learned that the hard way through life.
Boston u is a great place. whats your reason for transfering?

Yeah BU’s pretty great. Its just not as competitive as NYU. Sterns always been my dream school, and New York-my dream city. So the combination was kinda irresistible haha.
I WILL miss this school though, if I really end up getting into Stern. :/

Javeb,

Yes, I was rejected by Cornell. Btw, I say NYU is my only chance is btw it has all I want. My other choice is Indiana and BInghamton. But recently, the more i think, the more I want NYU. It affects my whole life. To give you guys some ideas, my parents left me when I was seven. They live in NY. WE’ve been separated for 12 years. Two years ago, I migrated to NY. I give up everything in my home country. Here, i get frens and family, and THE CITY, and NYU. Imagine if i’m rejected, I’ve to abandone all the networks I’ve been working on, and my family, and city life. I really have a specific case. Anyhow, I did not write that in transfer essay. It sounds bad if I wanna stay for only family, fren and city life. Instead, I use my essay to explain why my SAT score is low, and why I was rejected 2 years ago.

does anybody know when decisions will be coming out for CAS at NYU??? i just got accepted into Cornell but im still waiting on NYU. Thanks

i believe letters for CAS have already started to come out, some people were accepted the last week of april. so more should be coming out this week. good luck!

One question. I was on the fall 2009 transfer thread, and I found that most of the ppl wait until MAy 15 and after to get the decision. Isn’t it too late?

@ jadetransfer too late for what? I’m pretty sure there are a lot of transfer students that will not hear even before may 15.

I feel like tomorrow is the day. I know i said this yesterday but i’m pretty sure tomorrow… i feel it

do you really really feel it?

do you feel it in your bones?

does your intuition positively say it?

…lol i’m pretty anxious too. let it be… tomorrow! heavenly music ensues

lol @taiyoyuden I hope your “feeling” is correct :P

It’s actually funny that we’re so excited to prepare to pay so damn much money. But yay, we want it.

I would pay DOUBLE the tuition amount if it was a requirement for admission :p

no kidding.

*if it helped.

lol hookedongtown just for saying that you earn my number one spot for the person i want to get into stern the most. hurry up and get in so i can tell u more about nyu lol

lol, thanks… i guesss…?

no, seriously, i really wish there was an option like where universities could evaluate your financial situation and make you sign an agreement, upon admission, that your family would donate a certain amount to the university during and after your studies there. it would really help me :D

it is a capitalist world after all :)

I do not approve of buying your way into college. No offence hookedongtown. I mean I havent applied for aid, and I currently pay full tuition at BU, but Id almost feel guilty if my parents’ financial position was the reason behind my acceptance.

blaaaahhhh no mail yettt :-(

called today. they told me to check back next week :(

I can’t wait! Sending good vibes to all of you :)

no decisions today//?..
taking soooo long aghh
