NYU Transfer Thread - Fall 2010

Okay thanks!

Well, today is Saturday and I still have no luck on my mail box.
We can’t do anything til Tuesday (since Monday is a holiday), so let’s just enjoy our weekend.
Have a good one, everyone!~

Dhruvs congrats on the waitlist…I’ve been waitlisted at my top choice and it feels good, but now I’m going crazy waiting…
Anyway, I’m also waiting for Stern, last time I called they said my app was still under review and I’m an international student so I should receive an e-mail right away.
I will just enjoy my weekend…I’ve suffered enough haha

Whats your top choice? Also, I dont even know what to feel. I mean, being wait listed puts you back in that awkward waiting period. Sterns my top choice though, for sure, and I really want in.

I called on Thursday because I’d heard back from all my other schools and deposits are due Tuesday.

And I GOT IN! I’m accepted to NYU Steinhardt for Theater Education.

Super psyched!

The woman I spoke to on the phone said that they were still finalizing decisions with many applicants and that letters (of acceptance/waitlist/unacceptance) would be sent out this week. I hope that is helpful for those who are still waiting.

I called them on Thursday to find out my application status because I was able to activate my NetID and I was assigned an email address ending with “nyu.edu.” The receptionist I spoke to said the decision has been made on my application; they do not usually give out admission status over the phone or over email, but he decided to tell me after I insisted that I wanted to know the result.

I GOT INTO STERN!!!

Congrats safeheat and makethemoment!!! That is so exciting! Here’s to hoping I get my letter, rejection or acceptance, in the mail today! I’m hoping the same goes for the rest of you who haven’t heard yet as well

I just called and they said they haven’t made a final decision yet!!! What is taking them so long, they didn’t even assure that they will be done by the end of the week.

rejected. GOD DAMN IT!~

@ safeheat,
What’s the number you called to find out your decision?
And how did you activate your NetID?
What state did you apply from?
The only number I was provided was the N######## (8 digits).
I still haven’t heard anything from Stern (transfer).
Can I still hold on to the hope that “No news is a good news”??
Sorry for having so many questions.

And @ yuittywu,
Did you get your decision on the mail?
What state did you apply from??

Thank you and have a nice day.

Yes, I got the letter today. I am from Texas.
I think you can call (212) 998-4500. They will transfer you to another department.

Hi, dareme,

I called (212)998-4500 and I activated my NetID by using my NYU ID which starts with an “N.”
Here’s the link: https://start1.nyu.edu/ibin/start0.cgi</a>
I was able to get an email address ending with “nyu.edu” after I activated my NetID.

I applied from CA. They evaluate each applicant on an individual basis, so I wouldn’t give up yet if I were you.

Best wishes to you.

I just put in my info to activate my Net ID and I got the message

Attention! Your NetID has already been activated.

If you have forgotten your NetID or need to re-set your password,
please contact the ITS Client Services Center at 1.212.998.3333
for assistance

does this mean i’m in??? i’m freaking out!!!

I think so. Congrats :D

ahhh no way I can’t believe it! i’m going to call in the morning and ask them. i don’t want to get my hopes up but it’s so hard, haha!

anyways i’m steinhardt MCC
3.4 GPA from 2 years at Bentley, 1800 SAT, good EC’s and letters of rec

The crucial thing is that whether or not you have an NYU email address. If you do, I think you are definitely in (Why would they give someone who does not get in a school email anyways?)

Yeah!
I got rejected with GPA 3.5 !!!
I thought GPA 3.5 is not that bad as CAS ECON, but finally gone.
NYU admission workers were the worst service compared to other schools that I applied.
They made me to visit there because of stupid ladies kept saying they haven’t receive my transcript until April 25. Even though I sent them twice on March, they kept saying that XXXX till that time. And as you know they do not have any notification like applicants link or email which was the only school I’ve seen.
I confirmed that someone already signed it and print that stupid receipts from USPS.
Then visit there during semester. It was all wasting time ! lol
Whatever! No regret, but I’m still curious about acceptance GPA in CAS ECON.
I’ll never think about NYU in my life cause that school ruined me for like last 2months.
But good luck everyone!

Good bye NYU !! and thaks for rejection anyway!

Hi,

Anyone here get accepted to CAS as a Journalism major or Poli Sci??

and what are your stats if you don’t mind.

I still haven’t heard back yet…called today said “all decisions should be received this week.”

Ahhh I’m sick of waiting…this is way too long…

Thanks guys!

^^ I’m an applicant for CAS Politics too and would be curious to know the same :)

I just called admissions and I was accepted yesterday! Another strike for the NetID thing having some merit…

I got into steinhardt mcc with a 3.4 GPA from 2 years at Bentley, 1800 SATs, good ECs and good letters of rec.
