Am currently in a freshman in NYU stern but applied to transfer to Claremont McKenna which also offers an accounting major. I know that CMC is a liberal arts school that offers business majors while Stern is a (prestegious) business school. Right move? Am I killing potential job opportunities? Or do Claremont grads get equally lucrative jobs? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Well... Claremont is a relatively prestigious school, but it is not a business school. It is more well known for its government and politics majors. Also, I am not sure how prestigious or well known it is outside of CA. Accounting at a very small LAC is going to be nothing like being an accounting major at Stern. I dont know any statistics about job placement, but it seems like Stern would have more high paying jobs due to networking and that kind of thing. But really the biggest difference between the schools is the atmosphere. I cant think of two schools that are more opposite from each other as far as number of students, the area the schools in, and just the general atmosphere. I would make the choice based on where I wanted to live more than job placement.

what does LAC stand for?
Thanks for the advice. It is such a hard decision to make. I think I would be emotionally happier in CA but do want a good job after graduating (I would want to work in CA or HI).

LAC= Liberal Arts College. Yeah, Ive lived in Southern CA my whole life, and I was recently accepted to NYU, so I know what you mean about having a hard decision.
