I want to do econ/business and i'm wondering.

Is it harder to get into Stern than NYU college of arts and sciences?
Also, is it harder to get into Tepper or Carnegie Mellon?

If both answers are yes, how much harder?

Yes to both and I would say significantly harder (except for SCS at Carnegie).

I'm not too familiar with Stern but I know Tepper received over the 20% overall increase this year and its acceptance rate was 19.23%. SATs I'm not totally sure but you should be 1400+ or high 1400s with top 10% for both business schools.

Here's a comparison that BW recently did. It doesn't look like you quite need a high 1400s to get into CMU.

Yea I'm not sure about the SATs for either school but you should be aiming 1400 just to be safe.

By the way, Businessweek is a joke. Brigham Young, Indiana, and Carolina over Berkeley? These three schools can't even COMPARE to Berkeley Haas and there is no way Stern comes after Emory and Notre Dame. The entire list save for Wharton is misplaced.
