NYU vs. UMichigan vs. Carleton College

schools: Umich, NYU, Carleton College
objective: begin as econ major and try to transfer to business school (for mich and NYU)
finances: 4,000 loans for carleton per year
8,950 loans for NYU per year
5,500 loans for Umich per year

where should i go with an ultimate goal of ending up in law school

I would select UMich.

for what reason?

Wait, what's the point of going to business school if you want to end up at law school?

Well, the experiences are going to be different... there's no guarantee that you'll transfer into Stern, whereas the probability is higher at UM since their program is set up differently. That said, if you're thinking about jobs at all, it doesn't make a huge amount of difference if you're a business major vs an econ major (at least at Stern).

I think you need to narrow it down a little bit more yourself in terms of what kind of environment you like, because they're very different colleges from each other. I think they'd be equally good for ending up at a good law school eventually.
