**** NYU Waitlist of 2021****

So someone I know has this update on their housing portal. It says Spring 2018 under Summer 2017 and this:

“Welcome to NYU! Our records indicate that you are being admitted to the Spring 2018 term. Please check back here on October 15, 2017 to complete the Spring 2018 housing application. If you have already paid your housing reservation payment with your admission decision, it will be applied to the Spring 2018 term and will be noted in your application”

Anyone else have this change. And he didn’t receive an official email yet

So does anyone know if NYU has a priority list and how that works?

how do u get to housing portal? my albert portal has just admissions, financial aid, events, visiting students, and albert help.

"Finally and most importantly, please do not send us any additional recommendations, emails, updates, or other materials regarding your space on the wait list. At this time, we can no longer consider any new information whatsoever. We have all the information we need to make our final selections.

@Nimisha99 Wait… so they’re admitting people for the spring term?

@Isingh1347 I don’t know. He just got this update on the housing portal and no official email

my housing portal just has “Summer 2017” for what i assume is like a summer program.

When I select “summer 2017”, I can either apply for “academic year 2017-2018” or “summer session 2017”

My D’s housing portal just has " Summer 2017" too

I have this like wsxedc has, the two selections with this message after presing academic year 2017-2018
Our records indicate that you currently do not have guaranteed housing status for the Academic Year 2017-2018 term.

The Academic Year 2017-2018 application priority deadline is May 19, 2017. Students who complete this application by the priority deadline will be notified by May 31, 2017 if they are being offered housing. Students must be financially cleared and enrolled at the University to be eligible to receive an offer. All housing offers are contingent upon space availability. Students who receive an offer will need to submit the $1000 housing reservation payment and accept the offer in accordance with the offer’s terms to be guaranteed placement. Students who receive guaranteed housing are bound to the terms of the Academic Year Housing License.

Housing for the Fall 2017 term is extremely limited. Students that are not currently guaranteed housing are encouraged to seek off-campus accomodations.

Please note, you will not receive specific placement until after you have accepted the official offer of housing and submitted a $1000 housing reservation payment.

The final step requires submission of the “Application Confirmation”. This last step signifies completion of the application process. Once done you will receive a confirmation via email to your NYUHome account.

If you have any questions you may contact the Office of Residential Life & Housing Services at 212-998-4600 or via email at housing@nyu.edu.

^^^^^^Is that a sign for anything lol

Ok. The summer 2017 thing doesn’t mean anything. Everyone’s had it for a while. And for the Academic 2017-2018 thing, it only matters if you have Freshman in it. Right now I have non-renewable undergraduate which doesn’t mean anything

i don’t think any decisions will come out today. they’ll probably wait til the 10th cuz they put that date in the blog post, but i’m so nervous i keep checking my email anyways haha

Mine still says summer 2017… ahhh I’m so stressed out over this! NYU is my dream school…

I’ve been checking any FA changes on a regular basis lately

Just 3 more days guys! I think a lot of them will come out on the 10th. I’ll be so worried about AP calc on Tuesday so I’ll be distracted by that

Will all 325 of the initial offers of admission be released on Wednesday?

Is the waitlist on a first come first serve basis? Like if I turned it in at April 29 while someone else turned it in at April 25, does the April 25th person get off the waitlist first if I can also get off the waitlist (hypothetical)

@unin99 Probably not. On the blog it says May 10th and later so it will likely be over a period of a couple of days or weeks but I expect that many will come out on Wednesday, just not all.

@mike8888 No, that is very unlikely. They will fill the spots they have open with the people who best fit them regardless of when they submitted the RSVP. As long as your RSVP was submitted prior to May 1st it shouldn’t make any difference in their consideration of your application.
