NYUAD - Nomination raises chances?

While the NYU:AD website states that nominations, while not raising the chances of admissions, they promote admissions officers to take 'attention' to students nominated, is this true?

Would a very good nomination raise the chances of a student's admisison to NYU Abu Dhabi?

Hi, I got nominated, so let’s see. Does anyone know how long it takes for the admissions offics to contact you with their decision after getting nominated?

The nomination doesn’t count as an application.
You have to submit the Common app after the nomination, then they will contact you. YOLO

I’m getting nominated by my counselor as well. Would it significantly increase my chances for acceptance?

Hangingonstars,
I thought you applied ED1?! :(

questions:

do you have to apply to NYUNY and NYU-Shanghai if you are doing NYUAD early?

are the supplements for NYU the same for NYUAD?

@Daveyy
No :frowning: I missed the deadline because of certain issues with my school’s transcript format. Applying ED 2 now. sigh all this trouble and so little chance. :frowning: Trying to remain optimistic though :P

  1. No.
  2. Yes.
    :)

@HangingOnStars
thank you. :smiley: And good luck. :)

ED1 Deadline isn’t until Nov 1st though?

@Daveyyy
it is nov 1st

And is it okay to do ED1 if you have not given the SAT but are giving in November?

I think for ED1, all SAT scores have to be recorded before the date, therefore a November test would probably be way too late.

Your last chance for an SAT would be OCTOBER 6, this Saturday. See if you can try to get in? I’m taking it on Saturday! :D
