this might seem like a dumb question, but when they list the amount for room/board, that's the most expensive room/board rate, correct? because i was looking at the housing fees on the NYU site and they varied from $5k-$12k depending on whether you wanted low-cost housing/a specific resident hall. if i chose the lowest cost housing + smallest meal plan, the total cost of attendance would be at least 5k less than what they listed o.0; is this a realistic way of approaching the crappy financial aid/does it actually work?

Most halls require a 10-meal plan, which is $3,250 this year. Add that to your dorm rate. For most situations, that adds up to more than the $11,780 room & board figure they quote, but with low-cost at Rubin you could save $2,600.
