Obama nominations

So I have another question about 2013 nominations, I live Illinois so I'll be applying for Barack Obama's nom. My question is what happens if he is elected president? (which whether you like him or not seems like a good possibility) Would he still nominate students for one last time then after 2013 it would switch to the new senator?

This question is really for 3 out of the 4 current candidates in their respective states.

Think of it as the office that gives the nomination, not the person in that office. So, if the senator is still officially the senator then he/she will do the nominating.

There is a person at the office who takes care of all this. The MOC rarely is personally involved (except maybe at the end to make the congratulatory call). Relax....

Those Members of Congress who are in office now will select the nominees for service academies next fall. This is true regardless if they win or lose the election in November.
They will submit their slates of nominees to the academies before they leave office if they do not remain the incumbent.
This goes for Obama, Clinton and/or McCain. For the VP nominations while you apply to the Office of the Vice President - the academies essentially pick those nominees.

Also, remember he wouldn't take oath of office until end of Jan. Noms are done b4 that

Don't forget Ron Paul ;-)

If Senator Obama becomes Commander-in-Chief (or Senator Clinton for that matter) you might want to think twice about a military career.

Love it!

I think the political forum is over in the CC Cafe...

The SA forums have gone down this road before, and it wasn't pretty.

Raimius: Very well said ... the political forum is, indeed, at the CC Cafe. Can we all agree to just leave our forum for what it is supposed to be.

Oh, I don't know, maybe Obama, McCain, or Clinton will at least listen to their generals......:)
No matter who is elected, the neo-cons are on their way out and the far right is worried. Maybe the Republican party can finally get back to it's roots.

hmm I smell a troll...

How cool would it be to get McCain's nomination to USNA? Too bad I don't live in AZ.

I got a nomination from him for USAFA. I'm going to be saving that signature for awhile. ;)
