Is this a slap in the face to Columbia? He refused to speak at Columbia 3 times in the past, and this time, when he finally is coming to Columbia campus, he decides to speak to Barnard students, but not students at his alma mater?

IMO, this makes him look worse than not speaking at Columbia campus at all.

I think he just alienated some voters from Columbia.

Yeah, now he’ll win NY by 30 points instead of 31. Get over yourself.

he’s speaking at Barnard because many Republicans have decided to focus on social issues now that the economy is picking up. one of the largest social issues recently is about women’s rights to contraceptives/abortion. thus, it makes a lot of sense that he’s choosing a single-sex school. I’m sure the fact that he went to Columbia helped him choose Barnard over Wellesley, Smith, Mount Holyoke, or Bryn Mawr (or any non-7 sisters school).
