Oberlin RD 2019 Thread

That’s the ID number… Presto requires a pin?

For Presto you need your application id # (starts with a T) and the default password is your DOB in MMDDYY format. You’ll have to set your permanent password immediately afterwards and then you’ll have access.

Thank you!

Well i think I tried to many wrong combinations, now I can’t log onto Presto. Guess I’ll just find out later if I’m admitted or not…

Logged in. No visible financial aid info. It doesn’t say that I have any awards. All I can see is that the estimated cost of attendance is 63k. I’m pretty sure this all means that I didn’t get in.

@gminor Don’t think that! I got an early estimate but my Presto account shows the same ($63k). One of my friends got an early write because she’s a double legacy, and hers shows the same thing, even though she’s basically been accepted.

@epancotti that’s good to know, thanks

I don’t think the email notification is going to be happening today, folks. But maybe tomorrow…

If Presto shows an aid package including some merit money, does that indicate acceptance?

@bculling‌ - I am really, really hoping so! But I have no idea.

@dec51995‌ - Why do you think that? Someone posted yesterday that they’d heard from an admissions officer that it would be today. If it’s just because there is nothing on social media, they didn’t post anything there for ED until decisions had been emailed. I remember the Twitter message said something like, “Check your inboxes - decisions are out!” Last year decisions came out on the last Thursday in March, and with everything else we’ve heard (conservatory students notified yesterday, Presto update last night) it sounds like it really should be today.

So, just a technical question here. Why would my D’s estimated cost of attendance be $66,406 when others say theirs is $63,000? Of course, both numbers seem CRAZY!!!

I have logged into Presto… but cannot seem to find an actual number for my estimated cost of attendance. How is everyone finding their way to the 63K or the 66K numbers??

As per the Oberlin Admissions Tumblr, decisions will be emailed today.

If it says “No award information is available for you at this time”… does that mean I got rejected? D:

If it says no award info available at this time…I think it said that for my D from the very beginning! I don’t think it means a thing. Hang tough!

@coffeeblue‌ Oh my goodness… that was so cute!! The gif and everything! :'D

@Joan2021 I definitely will! Don’t know how much longer I can handle the suspense though!!

My account has the John F. Oberlin Scholarship amount listed at the bottom of the page.

@Joan2021‌ - If you click on the link that says financial aid status after you log in, you should be able to see it after toggling to the appropriate aid year. My cost of attendance is about $64K. I suspect the variation may be in the travel line. The money budgeted for my travel is pretty realistic based on where I live – they may set a higher figure there for people who live farther away from campus.

just noticed on the home page of presto it has a 4th option to email financial aid. this is on my computer (I always check on mobile- and its not there). has that always been on the computer version or is it new.
