Obsession with Southern California...

it stands for altanta, as in georgia. i live in socal, in rancho cucamonga to be particular. its just a growing suburb in san bernardino county, growing really fast, but i dont see how its different from anywhere else. ahhh, u don't still dont know what it is? remember next friday? his uncle lived in rancho.

Day-Day and his dad

I'd never heard of Rancho Cucamonga until this movie, seriously. I thought it was some fictional city in California

living in the sf bay area, norther calif...its definitely different from socal...but havent been in socal for an extended period of time, other than for vacation and visiting friends...i' planning to transfer down there for school so it will definitely be an adjustment period

I'm from Pittsburgh, so I'd probably be a poor fit in southern CA. I also am shocked that so many people want to be there--it just lacks that good old fashioned feel you get in a blue collar town like Pittsburgh. But being a hard-nosed Pittsburgher I may just feel that way. (Or maybe I just

growing up in socal suburbia is the best! you have almost everything within driving distance (short trips), and the weather is awesome.

sucks for the parents who have to commute through rush hour traffic though.

I was in LA (or was it Riverside?) for summer vacation once, and I don't know what highway it was on, but man, we were moving at 5 mph at the max. Seriously.

But socal life is good.

What is with people loving SoCal?

San Diego, maybe, but LA? come on, YUCK! I tend to agree with Maynard Keenan... I have a suggestion to keep anybody who lives in LA occupied: LEARN TO SWIM!!!!!!

if i was living in socal, i'd definitely choose SD over LA

I went to visit my sister in LA a couple years ago. It's so weird - no matter where you are, there's always like a blanket of rooftops stretching as far as you can see - it's kinda like ohio, except instead of plain flatness as far as you can see, you get rooftops.

Riverside is... UGH. Ugh, ugh, ugh. I identified the house we were staying at (my aunt's) by the phone pole type thing sticking out of the dirt clump mountain - if it hadn't been for that phone pole (or whatever it was, i don't actually think it WAS a phone pole but that's what i called it) i would have never been able to figure out which mountain-ish thing their house was on...

La Jolla is awesome.

But yeah, traffic there sucks.

Nor Cal > So cal

HELLA better.

Like, OMG, they're different.

Also, Riverside is overcriticized, and varies a lot by where you are in it, sorta most other medium to large cities/towns.

i live in oc (orange county) and life there is more like the movie orange county rather than the show...

Regarding an earlier comment, nobody would want to walk to Fisherman's Wharf in SF (tourist watching park).

Otherwise, as an Bay Area loving (SF, West (rural) Marin, N. Peninsula and Berkeley resident) kid, I dispise SoCal for the most part.

And yes- Old blue collar vibes make a city. SF has bits, I am in love with Chicago though.

Why would anyone want to live in San Diego?! I detest it here. There is ALWAYS traffic. Even at midnight there is still quite a lot. I've lived within a block of the beach my entire life. And i can count how many times i've been to the beach the last two summers on one hand. People here don't really care about anything...they didn't even seem to be that upset over Duke Cunningham.

I concur. I have a biased view, of course. =)

Northern California and Southern California are two different worlds in my view. I don't live in California, but have visited enough. The state of California should place a state line somewhere between Bakersfield and Fresno and separate into two states.

in general, SoCal girls are pretty hawt. I'm not saying ALL, just more proportionally than the rest of the country.

"Nor Cal > So cal"

you are crazy

I walked from Embaradero BART exit to Fisherman's Wharf throgh China Town and Little Italy to Union Square. It was fun.

"Nor Cal > So cal"

plez give me one reason why u think that.
