Ochem in LA?

Hi guys, I was just wondering how hard Ochem is at UCLA. TO be more specific, are the professors the type that teach well, but exams are hard or ones that don't know how to teach, and still give hard exams. Also, What are the grade distributions?

It depends on which series you are looking at taking… There’s the Life Science Chem series (aka Chem 14 Series) or the Physical Science Chem Series (Chem 30 series)

I am referring to the ones that pre-meds take.

premeds take both sequences, it depends on your major. I took the 14 series and it is not hard at all. There is really no excuse to do bad on the exams because one main professor teaches (Hardinger) and he provides TONS of practice problems.

ive heard the other sequence (30 series) is harder, but i don’t have any personal experience other than just what my friends tell me

I’ve taken the 30 series. It wasn’t that bad either. I felt like most of the professors gave ample enough practice problems so that one could feel prepared for exams (exam for maybe Rubin… I didn’t really care for his class.) Though in comparison to the 14 series, I suppose it is technically harder but, I always found that the curves were much more generous…
