"retaking" chem 14c by taking other series

i got a C+ in chem 14c and i also feel that i don't know the material well enough. it's a huge problem if i want to try to take the mcats sooner or later. just wondering if i could relearn the course material by taking 30B (that's sorta the equivalent right) cuz i can't retake 14c itself??

other options..?...
online course--on transcript...need to ace it
community college--ditto
just getting special tutoring

any advice? thanks.

bad idea. the bio section of the mcat hardly has any ochem these days. from what ive read, its like only 25% of the biological sciences section. you can easily learn it from a test prep book in a few days probably. taking a class to learn it is idiotic.

ask on studentdoctor, and im sure theyll agree.

do not retake a C+

as stated by the previous poster, mcat ochem is minimal and very basic. C+ isn’t the end of the world…

also 14D is WAY different than 14C (you barely use any of the 14C material in 14D) so you’re not at any kind of disadvantage.

a med school advisor said to retake an equivalent some time before applying to medical school to compensate for it…like from something similar to ucla extension or an online course. what’s this situation in terms of med/grad school?

i had A LOT of problems that quarter…also got a C+ and B- the same quarter (all science classes). worst time ever. :(

they dont care about how you do in ochem, they only care about your science (BCMP) gpa overall. there is nothing special about ochem compared to other science classes.

i think.
