so im deciding between hoeger, ternansky, and oconnor
who do you guys recommend as the best professor? Who is the easiest? I see that oconnor is filling up the fastest but I heard ternansky give the most number of As

All three are excellent professors to have. None of them are a walk in the park – and appropriately so, ochem’s not supposed to be easy. Hoeger and Ternansky have slightly more outlandish personalities than O’Connor, but all three teach well and have been teaching for a long time.

You can’t go wrong with any of them. All three are amazing (but difficult professors) and you will know your material very very well.

Like Astrina said, OChem is not supposed to be easy. But as long as you put in the work you’ll be fine (granted this is true for any class… but more so here since you need to put in extra work)

To answer your question,

O’Connor is a joke compared to the other two. He doesn’t even ask the big famous Synthesis problems. It’s more like he asks for the individual reactions and steps themselves straight out of the notes.

O’Connor is definitely the easiest
I doubt ternansky gives the most number of As
who did you hear that from? his class is probably the hardest
take his class and you will know what i mean

Ternansky says it himself…

Yeah the average is like 30%, but does that mean he will give students bad grades?
No.

He gives A’s to people that are in like the top 1/4 to 1/3 of the class. But you have to work pretty hard for it because people that take his class are WILLING to put in the time for his class.

Oconnor, just memorize the reactions he gives you and regurgitate them on the exam, you will get an A.
