Oct. 27=easy?

I agree with AbZmyster--time was an issue, science was a major blank out...

the rest seemed rather easy though--

Eng-Easy
Read-normal
Math- normal

Math was easy....science = catastrophic

i didn't think math was easy, math=hard, science=impossible

English, reading, math-beasted them
science-decent
essay-ran out of time (not exactly but thought of a good point as the teacher called time) so im not expecting it to be very good.

Im hoping for about a 32-33

Also you said you thought you scored a 27 which means even you don't belive its easy. And yes those scores are bad with or without cc standars. You can get a 600 on math2c just by knowing how to use your calculator.

I don't mean to sound harsh. Just my 2 cents.

Do you honestly believe that?

Let me explain something to you. First off, when I took the subject tests I was just starting 11th grade. I had not taken Algebra II OR Chemistry (I take Integrated Science as per my SLC requirements, so I had some background in Chem but not the equivalent of a full year).

Second. If it's SO easy to get a 600 on Math, explain to me why almost none of my friends got above a 500. Are we all just idiots? Huh...then I wonder why we're all getting into the colleges we were aiming for if our scores were so awful? (I probably shouldn't have said that because now you'll just shoot down our college choices, but whatever, I don't give two licks what you think).

Only a moron would say the ACT is 'easy'.

Remember, the ACT is meant to be easy until you get to the last 5 questions, which make all the difference. Half the country thinks the English section is a joke and get over 80% of its right - 80% on the writing section is 50th percentile, while on the SAT if you get 80% right its like 85th percentile.

In short, the questions on the ACT are obviously usually easier, but the curve is the world's meanest test curve. 74/75 would be a 99%, but on the ACT, that would translate to a 35/36, which woudl be a 97%.

Nasty curve. And to think on some SAT's you can get a question or two wrong and still get a 800! geez!!!! (Dont even get me started on SAT IIs, -10 = 800)

I personally had mixed thoughts about this test.

This was my 4th ACT examination (lol i know), and this time it was quite unique.

English was quite similar as the ones before, but this time it seemed like some of the rhetorical questions had some ambiguity and required more inferring instead of coming straight from the text.

I usually end the math section with 15 minutes remaining to look over answers, but this time i had trouble with 2 questions in particular. I'm quite sure I got one of the two correct, but we'll have to see. Hopefully this doesn't break my streaks for 36's on the math section :[.

Reading i thought was quite hard while doing it, but after the section i thought it was quite fair. I have no clue why i think this way. I think a lot of the reading section requires luck because it is mainly how fast you can find the answers, and that often requires luck. I hate the fact there is no real literary analysis.

Science: I rushed my answers on a few, but I don't think i did too terribly (knocks on wood). People are making it sound like it was impossible, but i thought it was hard, but at the same same time, fair.

I think the essay question was quite lame. I thought they could come up with some better prompts. Our prompt had such weak stances on both sides.

All in all, i think it was harder than normal. On a scale of 1-10, i give it a 7.

RBC...I think I just had a skewed sample (yay logical fallacies!!) because the only other test I'd ever taken was SAT...and that type of test is harder for me. So I guess I had underestimated my skills, maybe. I dunno. I do agree with you though.

Umm, so tell me if im wrong, but doesnt every Writing prompt have something to do with High school?
Because i remember all of them being high schools related i think (december 06, april 07, september 07, and this one)

April '07 had to do with the role of extracurricular activities - much like today's.

I believe every prompt tries to have a topic that students would be affected by.

I 100% agree with abzmyster. I destroyed the english and reading, math wasn't too bad,and that science section should not have been allowed. I've never seen the passages and questions so long and muddled. It was extremely difficult to plod through many of those questions and try to figure out exactly what they were asking. There was literally no amount of studying that i could have done to score better on the science because every practice test i took was much easier than the one yesterday. I honestly have no idea what my score on that section will be, but it will probably bring my score down substantially. Probably won't get the 32 i was aiming for. Sorry for my excessive ranting, but i am certainly glad to know that i am not the only person in the world who got their world rocked by the SCIENCE!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!
