This ACT compared to previous sittings

For those of you that have taken the ACT numerous times already, can you please tell us whether this test (Oct 28th) was generally more difficult for you than the previous ones that you took? If not, was it pretty much the same or easier?

TY!

Ok, I am not a high scorer but I do believe that this test was a lot harder in the Science and Reading. It seems different to everyone though.

I thought it was easier.

Science was way easier. probably 36
Reading was a lot harder...as was math. (I don't get it I got perfect for math last time, now I couldn't even finish I had to randomly guess two when time was called)
English was about the same.

I thought English was harder
Math was about the same
Reading was harder
Science was about the same

reading was slightly harder/about the same.
english was slighlty harder/ about the same.
math was easier for me.
science was the hardest i have ever seen.

english- same/harder
math- much harder (first 40 questions were gimmees then the last ones all took a lot of time.)
reading- incredibly easy (i actually finished it and I NEVER finish)
science- easier/ about the same

you are a very intelligent bunch. i feel mentally challenged right now. i guess i'm just horrible at this kind of testing. i'll be excited if I get a 25. it'll beat what i got last time. haha.

English was fairly easy.
Math was much harder than I expected. I was pretty much just guessing the last page or so.
Reading was really easy!
Science was extremely hard.

English was easy
Math was normal
Reading, harder than last time
Science murdered me...

this is compared to September test

English-harder
Reading-easier
Math-harder
Science-about the same

I'd take the September test over this one any day.

This was my first time taking the ACT. However, I've seen some practice tests, and the one today seemed much more difficult in all areas except English, which seemed easier.

same, nilkn

Sorry, this is a stupid question...but they curve for each testing date, right?

Math and science seemed a tad harder, english and reading were about the same - but it has been a while since I took it.

yeah - they curve for each individual test date

Ok, I personally feel like this test wasn't necessarily harder for me but I could see why it was harder for others. This test seemed different from the three other times I took the test. I think ACT has changed the types of questions they ask. For instance the nuclear chemistry on the test could potentially be much more difficult for someone who did not take a rigorous chemistry class though they might be able to use the examples. The english asked a different variation of question than normally asked. The test has definately gone through some changes the superficial ones being the signed statement and the word "ommit" is now "delete." Reading and Science I found easier than usual and English was the same. I don't know about Math because I lost concentration and never caught gear. I pretty much fell asleep during that section and therefore will not improve on this sitting.

Compared to June...
English - I felt about the same, most were easy there were a few I wasn't confident in at all

Math - Again, about the same as what I expected (not easy, though) early ones were eaaaasy, then I got to the end, ran out of time, and just got insanely confused, so I felt it was pretty hard.

Reading- For some odd reason I thought it was easy (or easier) than the last ACT/all the SATs I've taken. Some questions I found confusing and I was rushed at the end but I thought most were pretty straight foward. (I usually despise CR sections)

Science - Harder significantly than last time, if I had just a few more minutes...

It was obviously alot harder than the june test....

Seems the ACT is gradually getting harder and turning more like the SAT with ambiguous questions.

^ i know! shoot shoot shoot. on all the real ACT practice tests, i scored 34/35. ill be surprised if i broke 32 this time.
