Oct 8th SAT I curve predictions?

Ahh.. thanks for posting that up. What are the general differences between curves? For example, getting a 700 in May may have been -5, do you think they would allow something like -8 for a 700 in Oct.? Is that too drastic? What about in the 650 range (I'm praying for this right now.. it would really make my day..)? Any thoughts?

P.S.- Maybe they threw us a curveball and tried to test us on stuff that isn't frequently coached on. I can't even begin to analyze where I went wrong on the CR passages. It's the worst feeling when you feel like you could've done more but for some reason just couldn't.. :(

Since everyone thinks the CR was a lot harder this time, it's definitely possible. But this is collegeboard we're talking about, those bitter, bitter people.

i'm scared.

Let's just hope for the best.

I wonder if those collegeboard people have kids taking SATs. You know it's true but it's hard to imagine.

I feel depressed

probably they do. someone should become a dot com billionaire and buy collegeboard!

I don't believe in hope anymore

hey HiLine, i feel depressed too. but there's a lot more to life than SATs right?

It's kind of sad really..
I genuinely put a lot of work into studying for the SATs (I admit, I didn't study at all for the first TWO times I took it.. lol..). After all the time I put in, I won't even get to see it all pay off. It's not a question about how important the SATs are but about the fact that I tried to do the best I could with the time and resources I had and I still can't get satisfactory scores.. very discouraging not just for the SATs but for other things to come..

I know I can sit in front of my computer and mope over this all night long instead of picking up a book and studying some more, but I probably won't be able to take it again..

Can I possible believe that with hardwork I can do anything? I doubt I raised my pathetic 540 score by 50 points. Sad

Think of it this way. The SATs are so ridiculous and you'll probably never have to solve those kinds of problems again after high school. College finals and board exams, I would assume, can be studied for. You can't memorize every word in the dictionary or write a perfectly crafted essay in 25 minutes.

Imagine that the CB people decide to 'play' with our nerves and put a very very harsh curve for the CR:

67 800
66 780
65 750
64 730
63 710
62 690
61 670
60 650
59 620
58 600

omg it would be cruel :(

Thanks, Martin. We really needed that.

Ummm, I'd rather not imagine that the curve is that hard considering I already have a raw score that's not even on your list.

okay i'm sorry but i'm in the same boat as u - especially for the excerpt with Cecille arghhhh and that stupid sentence completion with the 'bully' answer....

LOL. No worries, mate.

folks,
i had 2- mathematics 20 MC qustions. - the second and the fourth I think. The second was with the fire truck ? which one of them was the experimental ??? ANy ideas ?

1 math wrong=790
2 math wrong=760
3 math wrong=720
4 math wrong=710

That's jsut what I think for the math, i want there to be a generous curve for CR though.

I think the math curve will be a little more lenient than funkmasta's predictions... but he's pretty close. Predictions always come out better than the real outcome... at least for me that is.

1 math wrong=790
2 math wrong=770
3 math wrong=740
4 math wrong=720
5 math wrong=690-700

This math test was undoubtly easier than the March one, and the curve for the March one was 6 wrong - 690.

Good luck to you all because I know I died on CR...

CR on that actor who compared dance and stuff to her work. YUCK. that section was a real pain...hope that was an equating section. anybody know abt that?
