of the second math section

i’m pretty sure it was the answer with ‘exaggerated self importance’ because it specifically mentioned the Big Media as being arrogant.

@JackTC yeah, i remember it did have the phrase “manipulating the public”, but i feel as if exaggerated self-importance is the better answer because it went with the main point of the passage. i was staring at that question for like 3 minutes though so I can’t tell you that I’m sure hahah

@Jack: I’m pretty sure for the writing question you were talking about, the correct choice had a “who” in it, which referred directly to Agatha Christie.

@swerve22: I put exaggerated self-importance as well. The main idea had nothing to with manipulation or finances. It was about how people think they are more qualified in journalism than they actually are.

@nightlock

what was the rest of it? I don’t think that would make sense

@imprettysure: I thought both the M and CR were much easier than the ones in the practice booklet. The writing, however, I messed up much more on because they had more “tense” questions than usual.

@NIGHTLOCK I completely agree. It had to be the answer choice with ‘who’ in it because the new clause was immediately after ‘Agatha Christie’ which means it was modifying her and not the room she stayed in.

anyone???

Do you guys think cutoffs will go down?

@JackTC: I don’t specifically remember, but the correction started right after the name Agatha Christie. It went “…Agatha Christie, (insert correction)”, so I’m pretty sure there should be a “who” there.

@imprettysure The second math section was easy…
Except I got the stupid bus question wrong on the first math section.

@MovingtoTexas: The cutoffs are very arbitrary. There’s no way of knowing because the cutoffs are based on calculations that include the score of your ENTIRE state, a rather wide scope for you to be able to determine.

29: 9
30: 47
31: 7
32: 48
33: 52.5
34: 110
35: 1/4
36: 5/2
37: 2640, 6600, and 1320
38: 75

@chrism0713: I thought the math overall was incredibly easy. I really didn’t have to think on any of the problems. However, I messed up pretty bad on the W section. For the union question, did you put N/E? I thought there was in error in tense in the first part of that sentence, and for the controversial “presumable” one, was there really an idiomatic error?

@nightlock

I think we are talking about different question because the one I remembered was talking about a hotel that came right before the correction.

@JackTC: From what I can recall (47,9,48,52.5,1/4,6600,75), that looks perfect.

@nightlock

Presumed that it was extinct until July 29, 1968 when an earthquake caused it to erupt, Mount Aernal is now the most active volcano in Costa Rica.

I think it is no error as well but I don’t know.

@JackTC: Possibly. At this point I have no exact idea of how the questions were phrased :p.

@NIGHTLOCK I believe I put N/E for the union question. And for the presumable question do you mean the volcano one? It has to be A, because the correct idiomatic expression should be presumed to be.
@JackTC I’m pretty sure the word right before the correction was Agatha Christie…
