PSAT critical reading questions!!!!

For the 1st traveling alone passage, about the line about "never more alone than being alone" or something like that, I was divided between this is a paradox and this an understatement. People say paradox. Anyone agree/disagree?

Feel free to post other questions.

Also, does anyone remember some of the sentence completion questions?

Theres one about how professional wrestling is like moral plays - i said devoid...ambiguity

There was one about some hard working person - i said fastidious and obsession? or was it compulsion...

And then i remember one of the answers was toxin.. Easy

i said paradox. i forget what i said about the moral plays oe. i said fastidious and obsession also because the compulsion one was with lacksadaisical or something which can;t work

i said paradox.
and fastidious/obsession was an answer.

was there a sentence completion with insipid? hmm...

oh yeah thanks, star. yup that was the answer.

Yes.

Galvanized...insipid.

The sentence was something about apathetic voters.

i said the one about thurgood marshall = reticent. and there was something about tepid.

oh yeah, how it motivated/stirred up people or something. it was an "otherwise insipid election" or something like that, right? who was thurgood marshall... ?

i said galvanized/insipid
paradox
and fastidious/i believe it was followed by compulsion.. i dunno.

What about the sentence with proponent?

yeah, edith wharton was a proponent of the short story or whatever. that was the answer. other people think scholar, but all the other people i've asked... think it's proponent too.

i think its proponent also

oh yeah... thanks a lot, i remember a lot. hmm, i will make a psat sentence completion list maybe after we remember all of them. thurgood marshall was supreme court justice. as a lawyer, he fought for desegregation of schools, i think. u.s. history knowledge from eighth grade, so dont kill me if im wrong.

yeah, some people put scholar, but i doubt it - proponent is much more accurate. what was the question about tepid? hmm... i eliminated the other words.

Awesome!

I really don't like the comparison questions about the passages... Author 1 vs. Author etc. Anyone remember any of them?

Traveling alone vs. with a companion
Geniuses
etc.

maybe it wasn't thurgood marshall but it was something about how some supreme court justice (maybe earl warren...) was forthright in court but _____ in private (reticent I said )

i said reticent as well

oh yeah! i remember another one. something about first the people were ______ but something something by a pessimistic assesment?

Ebullience, I think.

One also had impecunious and affluent.

does anybody else remember the one about morals and boxing

i think ebullience was a different one that had two parts. and i did impecunious and affluent also.

yeah i said the one about theatrics. but i have no clue if its right.
