Hey can someone be kind enough to predict what my score might be? I am a 10th grader and I am guessing I got
-3/4 in CR
-3 M (made the DUMBEST mistakes, 2 were grid ins)
-3/4 writing
Is this a good score for a 10th grader?

-3 m = mid 60s but -3/4 read is rlly good (low-mid 70s)
write -3/4 is high 60s
205-210

woah mid 60’s math? The practice one has that to be 72 0.0 btw did anybody put idiosyncratic?

Edit: I actually realized I only got 2 wrong in math. According to my genius 9-3=12-9 -_-

@Brownster98 i believe the correct answer, per consensus of other CC’ers, was conspicuous on that question. conspicuous means clearly evident, and the lines described the AskSeva page as very large (taking up half a page). Therefore, conspicuous would be the correct choice. Idiosyncratic means peculiar and wouldn’t make sense in the context. Nevertheless, you have a great score for a sophomore!

shoot! I though it said somewhere that her article was not something people have seen before or something along the lines of that thus it was unique. Oh well. I got another year to make it higher. I live in New York so I don’t have to increase my score substantially for NMSF

No 240, no food for 240 days! Lol asian father joke;)

*this is not to be taken seriously or offensively

@Brownster98 yeah I’m sure it did, but i think the lines referenced on that specific question demonstrated that the newspaper column was clearly visible and large. Dont stress out too much about it now, save that for junior year!

@psatperson: lol. I saw one the other day. Facebook? Why you no face book and study :p. Again it’s not meant to be offensive (I’m Asian myself). Just reminded me of it :).

What was the math question that had 7 as an answer? I’m trying to remember the actual problem but am drawing a blank.

Ok… so it looks like I got one math grid in wrong so far… how many cr can I get wrong to get a score of 210? I bombed this test. I don’t know what I was doing. I won’t get NMSF. This was my one chance to prove I’m worth anything. I’m gonna cry till December, when I’ll probably commit suicide:(

@frenchgal: Only one wrong in math will put you at around 77! At this rate, you have quite a cushion on the CR section! The PSAT isn’t the end of the world. A random test on a Saturday morning doesn’t and will never prove your worth as a person. Lighten up, I’m sure you did fine!

@stressed4lyfe: I’m trying so hard to remember but it’s just not coming to me :p. BTW frenchgal (the post below your post) should have your name.

@NIGHTLOCK Thanks man for the consolation. After reading this thread tho… I see that I literally got every cr question wrong. It’s just that i don’t have much to distinguish myself from other college applicants. This was my one chance.

@stressed4lyfe the question in math with an answer of 7 was the one was something like this:

if x-something/something=6 then what is x+something/something

x was 6.5 and i honestly dont feel like trying to figure out what the other stuff is in the problem hahah sorry for being vague.

I hate how some people never have to try and always succeed at everything. And then other people like me who work so hard yet never achieve much success. You guys will never understand.

Those one or two people in every school who naturally get everything they want without trying. sigh I feel your pain.

The question with 7 as an answer was x -1/2 = 6, what is x + 1/2?

Guys, this question is driving me crazy! Does anyone remember all of the answer choices for the apathy…raptness question? I know one was impatience…desultoriness, but what were the others?

@aquamar1ne

veneration…adroitness
… … disingenuous

This is officially my new homepage
