October 2010 - Math II

Because my TI-89 says so.

To all you taking this test tomorrow, good luck!

Did it a couple hours ago, does anyone know if the tests are the same for internationals? or is it like the SAT where it varies for QAS months? I’ll leave my comments till after you guys have completed it :D.

The tests are obviously different because collegeboard is already super and unnecessarily strict and test centers are fat time zones apart so you could just have a friend in australia etc. to call and ask about the test…

right so to all those from australia/east asia/india/middle east/north africa (?)/etc who might have already appeared for today’s test, how lenient do you think the conversion curve would be ? Going by Barron’s tests, they needed a mere 44+ out of 50 for an 800. I’m not really sure about today’s test though. Seemed a tad easier. Would, say, 790 be on the cards with something like 45 + atleast ?

I left 2 out, and got about 5 wrong. Can anybody tell me my raw score and estimated-score-out-of-800?

Thanks

the math test was really easy i think…i omitted 1 and the rest i’m sure i got all right

darn i ommited 4 not sure how many i got wrong

am i the only one that didnt finish?? :(

what has the curve for an 800 been in the past?

i was on #36 or #37 with 5 min left… thats what happens when you dont practice taking full length tests. i ended up leaving 9 blank. i’m hoping for at least a 730 with the barrons calculation…

I thought it was pretty tough actually. I reviewed using the McGraw-Hills book and I’m in IB HL Math Year 2 so I thought I’d be covered. I ended up skipping like 9 questions! And I’m guessing I messed up on 3-5 because I was rushing.
I really hope the curve is generous on this one!!

First half seemed ridiculously easy, then it got much tougher as you would expect. I skipped like 10 and know i got 1 wrong. Usually I’m pretty accurate though so hoping for like 720-730 which is good enough.

I left 6 blank - and then there were 2 I wasn’t sure about but there’s a chance I still got them right. So much for getting better than my previous score. I just couldn’t focus, I’d have to read half the questions twice before I comprehended what they were asking.

But yeah, I agree with Extelleron - the first like… 35 questions were ridiculously easy, and then after that it got a lot more difficult.

did u guys get that the plane and line question? i wrote two circles but thats probably wrong. also what about the last one with the circle of radius 1 i got .93

Left 16 blank. Anyone know how many you can get wrong and still have a 700???
silverturtle…where are you?

Haha, yeah those were two I definitely skipped. I had no idea what the hell they were asking about for that plane and line one, and I only had around one minute left when I got to the circle one so I skipped it because the last one was surprisingly easy.

@stalkermama I’m not trying to be rude or anything, but I’m doubting that you’ll be able to get a 700 with 16 blank. Last time I (think I) left 5 blank, and I got a 760 - so I obviously got some wrong plus those 5 blank but anyway… 16 is a lot.

My alarm clock didn’t go off. ■■■.

^ lol at keellota

Omitted 6. ■■■. So much for getting above a 740.

If you left 16 blank and got all that you did correct then you would probably have like a 710-720 I think. But it’s more likely you got several wrong and have a score in the high 600s.
