yeah…u got that right… 8/11

240000: I believe the answer to that 7/8 and 4/3 problem was something like (4/30-1)/(4/3-7/8) don’t remember what that would be.

Was the very last question, the a+b one, 10? Was there an absolute value on it?

Yes, the answer is 8/11

a was -7 and b was 3 and yes there was absolute value so the answer is 4

hey…Extelleron there are 8 bits in a byte… that’s where the 2^3 comes from …

its : 1 GB = 2^10 MB = 2^10 * 2^10KB = 2^10 * 2^10 * 2^10bytes = (2^10)^3 * 8 = 2^33 bits …

uh oh…now im getting nervous … extelleron , did they ask us for the number of ‘bits’ or the number of ‘bytes’ ? oh dear dear… coz obviously i was utterly careless when reading the question if they’d asked for ‘bytes’… :-(

Wasn’t the slope of the other one -3/7?

So the perpendicular slope would b 7/3?

The last question for me was like f(1)=1 and something like f(x+1)=1*f(x) and what is f(5)? I got 24 for that one.

@kean: yeah I didn’t read that part of it I guess. Sucks because that is such an easy question.

@45fly6129 I got that too

I got 24 for the last question.

Was the answer to the question about the greatest possible answer c+2? Where c was a negative constant (in a function I forgot). I put lcl+2 at first, but I realized that that is the same thing as -c+2, which is also an answer choice.

Yes, I got 4 for the la+bl question because a=-7 and b=3.

I just put lcl+2

i agree with 240000 i put c+2

Wasnt’ a= 7 and b=3…Perpendicular slopes are negative and flipped around.

@Tubaisfun, I put that also (as in lcl+2) but that question did NOT make any sense to me…

Hey Extelleron so what’s the verdict on the bytes and bits question ?!? would anybody else verify please ? did they ask for ‘bytes in a GB’ or ‘bits in a GB’ ?

Tuba, the slope in the first equation was negative, and the second original equation was ax+by+3, and when solved for by, it became by=-ax-3, meaning a is -7 since the slope must be positive.

Pretty sure it was bits and I got 2^33 aussi!

used dimensional analysis for that one. just multiply all the numbers on the right side of the chart the get the bits in 1 gigabyte

1 gigabyte = 8 589 934 592 bits

2^33 = 8 589 934 592
