October 2010 - Physics

when the half hour was up i had completed more than 40 questions. and then with 15 mins to go i was on the 50th question…and then i got screwed…

So far i’m at 4 wrong, 3 omit and that’s only the ones i remember! :(

yeah the first half of the test goes very smooth, I think I hit the 40 mark at around 20 min, then it got really really grueling.

For the timing I got the same with Anthro. No questions left blank, had 5 min to spare, (which i used to check the hard questions)

I’m just curious to how many people here have completed the AP physics B or C course/ self studied for the AP course before taking the test and how hard did you think this was.

Crap this is what it all comes down to!!definitely one of the harder tests i’ve written,if not the hardest.Let’s just hope for the best

So any predictions on wat the curve for an 800 will be?

10 misses? so like 61-63 raw? from the posts here i’m guessing a generous curve?

well the CB curve from the book is 59, so “generous” would be below that im thinking, but I can’t imagine it being too low like 55-56.

if 59 is 800 for CB curve then definitely this test is around 56…this test was like 10 times harder than CB test

can we please have a consolidated list??

has the embargo been lifted?

Okay, so assuming that the embargo has been lifted,
my answers [the ones I think are right lol]:

Force is the one that’s NOT zero with a nonzero acceleration
Kinetic energy is not a vector
On the problems where there were two carts colliding:
2 is the speed if they were both combined
Amplitude has no effect on Tension so T1=T2 (problem near the end)
The half-life problem- half life is 1 hr 20 min

and did anyone get C four times in a row? Somewhere in the middle?

we need a consolidated list please…

^ well I’m trying to start one but it’s not really working lol

I guessed so many…i omitted 7 and im sure I got many wrong…

Yeah, I remember there being a lot of Cs in the middle of the test.

@Neytiri- yessss! lol that makes me somewhat hopeful.

I omitted like 5 and probably got 10-15 wrong…

that should be about 700 i guess?

guys come on! lets all work on the consolidated list. i can’t remember too much off the top of my head, but lets all collaborate please!

dont remember wording but answer was like is “proportional to square root of b”
2 momentum graphs i think? first one was constant acceleration so straight line. one below was a upside down parabola (displacement for y i think?)
minimum speed sq root 2 X v
thick string to thin string: velocity is less in thick string, but frequency same?
question about stars i omitted
one of the last questions x=60, angle was like 37. i think answer was t = 3
what was the answer to the graph of charge/capacitance? i think i chose the picture of a negative exponential graph?
there were some weird questions about light and 6 screens. i omitted both.

something like that… let’s just hope that the curve is lenient.

I said negative linear for the Capacitance graph because its c=q/v
and I think it was proportional to b[sq]?
the refraction one: the one that was closest to the normal
and the diverging lens one: I said either A or B
