October 2010 Writing SAT thread

What did you guys get on the sentence completion when the professor was going out before…

confirming…
to confirm of

@Cornet: The error on that one was “among my friends and I.” It should be “among my friends and me,” since you are able to replace it with “among us” - objective pronoun (?).

do u guys remember

decides setting

question?

or was it in the experimental?

was the sentence id question about 16th century emperors and bringing ice down from mountains experimental?

@Light: I believe it was “confirmed”? Just as the professor left for his lecture tour (or something), the committee confirmed his most recent findings.

@Teddy: I still haven’t figured out which experimental I had, but I think that one was one of the first questions in a section? I think I might’ve put decided for that. “Hoping to …, the author decided to …”

@Eric: Oh! Sorry there are so many questions I remember from that one, haha, sorry! But yes, I did indeed put “indeed” on one of them. (: Er, yeah, “Indeed, organic produce has 40% more nutrients…”?

Didn’t we already agree that the mammal question indeed had an error (C - “its”?) Because a lot of people are saying now that the mammal question was NE. Or maybe I’m just thinking of a different question?

…hm
i just said that focusing the education on creative arts is consequential because instilling sense of creativity and imaginative minds in young citizens may lead them to success.
i used Steve Jobs (iPod) and Harry Potter (J.K. Rolling)
i argued that many typically undermine the creative arts education because they assume that learning more about math and science and pursuing math or science related careers would bring them more fame and fortunes. However, one brilliant or creative idea may also bring tremendous fortunes to people…

something like that. i wrote about 1 3/4 pages too…hope i wasnt off topic…:/

Was there one like would of but it should have been would have?

Does anyone remember the mammal question?

How about the sentence error that had “practically any” was that a No Error?

@coup Sorry, I deleted that post because it was so confusing ! D:
Did you get an answer that said “by comparison”?

Some people say that the mammal question had an error - its
the sentence was something like this…
The reason that the mammal is the dominant specie is because of its – ability to adapt to any environmental conditions
I do not think there was an error…

Me too!

10 char

@papapia

wat was the answer to the speed of wind question?

the one with the “…resulting from…” 100% sure

@ Harambee

i just noticed u also live in NC
u live in the coast?mid?mountains?

I confirm that on sentence errors there was only one no error and that was the mammal question

For the cost of organic fruits and vegetables did the right answer begin with Indeed, the price… or By Comparison, the price of…

@Linger: Yes.

@Crzy: I got NE for mammal? What @Girls said seems to be correct.

@Eric: I’m not sure …? Do you remember the question? But I do remember marking “indeed,” “organically produced food is,” “for instance,” and something about how the consumers ultimately decide whether the organically produced food is worth it. And for combining sentences 13 and 14 (I think) in the last paragraph, I think I marked either C or D?

^I got 2 no errors 1 of them was the mammal question
