I don’t really remember all the numbers, but there was a problem about zeroes and it had a I,II, and III choices? Was it just II ? T___T

tvremote-

Just I.

Normally 50-43 is an 800, well thats the curve on sparknotes!! This test people say was slightly harder so maybe they’ll adjust it?? If u skipped 5 and got 4 wrong thats minus 10…which is around 770!

you serious? gah. i wish i could cancel this but i need it for EA…

Yeah, don’t cancel…you’ve worked for it and paid for it! With subject tests there’s a limit to how bad you can do! I made some silly mistakes and guessed few…so probably just hoping there’s not too many of those! I tend to guess instead of leaving, its a bad thing! Did you just do Math II?

so what’s the consensus for the f(2x)=3x^2, find f(g(x)): 3(2(g(x))^2 problem? did the answer have divided by 4?

to ahua852 :
“(x-7)(3x-4)=0
x has to be either 7 or 3/4 because of the zero product property…
so 3(4/3)-3=0” –> 3(4/3)-3 is 1 not 0

Yes, (2x)^2 results in 4x^2 which needs to be divided by 4 ;)

Was it just me half asleep during the test, or was that test significantly evil? I prepped with the offical collegeboard book and ended up with straight 800s on both tests-- but I must’ve skipped 5+ questions this time around and I was still pressed for time. Did anybody else have a similar experience?

what would 5 wrong, 0 skip be?

I felt like this test was far more time-consuming than the practice tests… I ended up skipping ten questions, and I’m sure I missed some too =

@ankit: thanks!!
@xylo: haha yes, I got straight 800s on Barrons practice tests, and in this one I skipped 3 and got 1 for sure wrong, when normally I never skip any…too many time consuming questions.

And no one knows for sure about the periodic one then?

Well, at least it’s good to know I’m not alone. It sorta reminded me of the C: Mechanics free response last year-- lots of evil, not enough time to solve it. hahaha, and to think I was 5-6 mins ahead going into problem 40 :P.

Yeah think the curve might be a bit more generous then? I thought after the first 30, 800 was a possibility…immediately when I crossed 35…I was like WHAT THE HELL?? And then she calls 5 minutes, when just a minute ago I thought I heard 20 minutes lol!

so far. 5 skipped. period wrong? probability one wrong, trapezoid one wrong. i’m hoping itsl ike -7 = 800. is that even possible? or likely?

oh and the 3/4ths one wrong.whats a 40 raw score?

This test was dreadful. When I’m doing math, I take the time I need. That’s not how this test was structured. During the test I was thinking about how the college board is actually kind of rewarding those who make non-thorough calculations. I don’t think that’s good practice.

-7 is 800 according to the average sparknotes curve! -8 is 790!! But I think for this test…it might be -8/-9 if thats even possible?

The test wasn’t particularly difficult concept-wise (overall) so I don’t expect a -9 800 curve … despite how time-consuming it was.

Isn’t the curve based on how well people did, though?

I took a math 2 subject test last june and 800 was 44+. I thought this one was a lot easier, albeit more time-consuming. I don’t expect the curve for 800 to be below 44. :(
