October 2011 SAT International Writing

^^What was the question?

I put the 29 as E as well. Writing was easy!!

I don’t know if it was 29 or not, but the one with hamlet I am sure was a/b. It was wrong idiomatic usage of suggest (it was like “he suggested to look”)

Piepod

God dammit
I picked the last one “like them, teachers…” It seems wrong, but considering the other answers, there is just a possibility.

The one that others picked was the one with the random “with many” or something like that at the end. It is equally awkward as the others.

I guess its up to CB to draw the line?

Though I think i might be wrong >.<

Piepod I got the same answer as you…
I’m not sure though cuz that answer has redundancy in it…(“just as” and “like them”)
but other choices are just…too awkward?

i talked about the arab spring and how the dictatorship should have listened to the worlds criticism to avoid the bloodshed. i.e i was against the quote and thought that criticism actually helps you

oh wait sorry ive lost track of the thread ha. Im talking about the essay of course :P

how about the so teachers have inspired many students? i thought the so was awkward, but the rest really makes sense

i chose so too as well cause it’ just as _ so (isnt that the correct idiom?)
what did you guys put down for the daily meditation question in the 10 minute section?

GAH it turns out that just as…so is indeed an idiom…
2 wrong for me already…><
hongkonggirl do you remember the exact question?

definitely the 10 min section it was about quarter way down the left column? im hard pressed to remember the question number tho …

it was something like Daily meditation, adherents say, is just as good a habit to adapt as brushing one’s teeth…

that was hard.

so how many “no error” do you guys choose? I think I choose only 2.

for the “adherents” question, I think it is “say its adherents”

I think I put no error for the one that was like 'If Josh had begun sooner, then he would have finished cooking or something. But I wasn’t sure if it was ‘began’ instead of begun, or if ‘sooner’ should’ve been ‘earlier’ @_@

What did you put for the Disney question? The audiences /that had/ or /who have/ never been exposed to musical theater?

yeah i picked say its adherents too

on discipline and freedpm… american revolution and movie blood diamond

2 no errors for me as well. i thought that was odd.

@ricecakes i think its begun cos begin-began-begun you know … makes sense i think…

that had for disney i think ? dont really remember. def not ‘have __’ tho

Yeah, the “had begun” question has no error whatsoever. But I remember there is another question which has an error in “would have” something.

Oh! no, I had chosen 3 no errors because I couldn’t identify the idiom posted earlier on this thread…
