October 2011 SAT Reading

I found all the passages to be very easy to read and comprehend , but I thought the answer choices were tricky. I seemed to narrow down to 2 answers easily, but finding the right one between those 2 was hard.

Can someone post the inference questions from the 20 minute CR about the biography of the woman in history?

Do you remember the other options for the treatment question?

I put management for “treatment.” Was stuck between that and handling.

Treatment had answer choices like practice and a word like handling. or something like that i forgot. I put for the walden that people took out that it had ups and its downs and the other not sure.

@1537915379 Okay, I’m reassured by that confirmation.

I put management instead of handling cuz he is managing her life in autobiography… not sure :frowning: hope it right

I put handling…

Why can’t it be EXECUTION. Execution means “The technique or style with which an artistic work is produced or carried out”

I put handling, too. Management made it sound like she was still alive and needed managing. Handling was better for someone whose life was already lived out.

what was the taking a break from everyday life question

Because the author was ___ing the person’s life, not the story. I think the answer is handling.

Edit: That was to SourApple :D

@rd2012: The question that asked about the meaning of “art is a detour” or something like that. I put a “guide for life” but it’s probably wrong =[

ALSO, what were the “_____ most nearly means” questions for the last passage? Besides “treatment”

so vehement vs. caustic

I seriously ended up doing eeny meeny miny moe (I know…)
but I checked the dictionary after I got home
vehement is strongly emotional
caustic is sarcastic, or biting

I think it was caustic b/c the author was like
“burning hydrocarbons is a luxury we can’t afford” “situation is not pretty” blah blah blah he wasn’t exactly emotional…so?

Treatment was the word that you had to find a synonym for. Execution and handling were two of the choices.

why isn’t anyone talking about the one passage about that guy Fleece (the roommate)? I thought that one was HARRRRDD

@ sister i agree like *** was that ****

I agree with Essaytee, management seems a little too much.

Yeah, I was really unsure in Fleece whether Fleece’s behavior as a whole was urbane or eccentric.

EDIT: D’oh, I see why it’s eccentric now. Oh well.

so would this be considered hard or easy
