was I finding the x-value or the y-value?

what did you get for sina=.3 or whatever

OK there was a question about a painter who wants to paint the ceiling and that walls or something, and the dimensions were long 18x15x8 or something like that. It was easy, but I am actually ■■■■■■■■, so I couldn’t figure it out.

I think they were asking for sin(theta)=.3
And you had to find the cos(theta).

I’m not sure if they specified the quadrants on that one.
I got .95, but maybe it -.95?

u just had to add the area of (1815) + 2(158) + 2(18*8) because it was only the roof and walls

What was the function for the equation that had the (3sinx+2) in the denominator?

Wasn’t it just asking where x would be undefined?

they were asking for sin(theta)=.3
You had to use the law of cosines to find cos(c)=something like .7888, then find the sin of that and it was -.953 I believe

Was the sin(theta)=.3 problem on the top right?

Was the answer E?

^agreed

Did anyone get the population problem?

yea it was just like the initial population(1.0092)^10

AtypicalAsian

I’m not sure if this is the right way to do it, but couldn’t you do a geometric series?
A1= initial population in 2004(?) (2 hundred something)?
A11=population in 2014
r=.0092 (since it was .92% increase each year)

and then you’d find the Sum of term 11 with the geometric series formula

Does anyone remember more detail on the sin(theta)=.3 question? I remember that part but not anything else about the question :(

@kerning, I got 3.87 the one that was asking for when x is undefined

Dang. I skipped 4 in all.

Hbout the question that was like at 2002, the us population was blah blah blah. at 2014, what was the US population in millions if percent increase is .94%?

MuayThaiLeeSin

I just wrote about that above, I’m not sure what the given numbers were though. I’m positive about .0092 though

@MuayThaiLeeSin I put 321 million for the final answer, each year the population increased by 1.0092 * old population

I remember the population question. I’m pretty sure the initial population was 3,000,000 in year 2004, while the population increased by .92% each year. It asked for the population in 2014. To solve the question, you just needed to do 3,000,000 x 1.0092^10 (since 10 years are between 2004 and 2014), which ends up being about 3.29 million.

For [pi/2, pi], if sinA = .3, what is the value of cosA. cos(2.8369) = -.9539.
