Is anyone else auditioning on October 28th for Elon? Did anyone else get their schedule? Are all of the audition schedules the same, or are they different? It seems like it is going to be a LONG, but eventful, day! :-)

Good luck, EJ.

From my d’s audition experience last year, I can agree that Elon’s audition is a long day (she was there from 7:30 a.m. until about 9 p.m.), lots of interesting components to the day. People had different schedules (i.e. they observed an acting class, but there were several classes at different times, so kids were assigned to watch a certain one). Dance, acting and voice were all separate auditions, in different locations, with a lot of down time in between. (That was the only bummer to the day – hard to sustain the positive audition energy over so many hours…then her acting audition bumped up against dance, so she was running down the hall from the theatre to the dance studio, pretty much changing from her audition dress to the dance outfit underneath as she ran…). But enjoy your day there! It’s a gorgeous campus, the faculty are very cool people. Good job getting everything together for an early audition!

Break a Leg, EJ! Next weekend will mark 6 yrs ago that our oldest was there to audition. It was his first audition, and a beautiful, wonderful day. His was a full day, but shorter than what appears to be happening in recent years. Figure it this way, they are diligently trying to gauge as much about the prospectives and, for those fortunate enough to be accepted, show the students as much of the department, school, and its environment as possible. Down the road, for the students who accept offers, it hopefully means a secure match between student and school for 4 years. If you do have downtime, try to walk the neighborhood around the campus - we did have time for that and several of the kids went out for lunch together. We’ll be there in February with our youngest. We’d love to hear how your experience goes!

Just a quick note about audition day! It is VERY full and parents plan to sit around or walk around campus the ENTIRE DAY. Kids…bring a small towel and essentials because you will be sweating profusely after dance auditions and then you have to put your nice clothes back on…whatever it takes to freshen yourself up. Drink lots of water and maybe take a few snacks for quick energy boost. Elon is the BEST and if you are there during the musical Hair…go see it…make sure you call ahead about tickets. Break a leg!

Great tips debphillips - thank you!

Thanks debphillips! We are coming the next weekend and we bought tickets for Hair. Won’t my D be able to see it???

@fourkidsmom–
Your daughter still should be able to see the show! Last week they got out in time and plus the people running auditions are part of the artistic team for the show. See you next week!

My D’s experience last year was from 9-6:30. There were a few kids still finishing up after her. It is a very long day especially for the parents. We were joking about needing a Happy Hour for us! And it was my D’s last audition!!! Break a leg!

Has anyone gotten phone calls for acceptances. Someone told me that there were people who had gotten phone calls, but I can’t find any postings on it. Has anyone heard anything?

Where did you hear that? I don’t think they are accepting too many this early…maybe one or two, but I think it is mostly deferrals if anything this early on. The decisions will be posted on the 16th on OnTrack.

Just an FYI, we have heard of one boy getting an acceptance phone call and one girl getting notice of no admission. As EJ says, best to check with OnTRack. I know it’s tough to wait - best wishes to all of you through your following months of auditions!

^^^ actually, the wording above should be notice of no acceptance. I tried to correct, but my computer shut down.

We heard of a girl getting accepted into the BFA Acting. I know it’s not the same but just in case anyone’s keeping count!
