OCTOBER SAT Subject Test: French

well i must say you have an excellent memory unlike me who barely remembered anything..
i skipped around 8 my first time and got 610...really hoping that the curve thing is reletively accurate
did you find the vocab section hard? the first maybe 7 were easy, then i ran into like 6 that i just purely guessed on sigh

1) for the animado service one...
did anyone find it strange that one of the answer (c. i think) was like "at the animado" or something? I chose that as the answer but was it a trick question because it seemed just too easy.

2) someone mentioned a "chaleux" question..can someone remind me exactly what the question asked (i think it was vocab question)

I know! I picked C, too!

You're right.
It must have been a trick...

:( :( :(

Yeah the first vocab section started out sooo easy then was like "wut"? After "gonfler" it went downhill, lol.

It's weird how ridiculously easy I find the grammar section, which I assume is supposed to be fairly advanced, while the vocab is like... impossible. I guess my school's curriculum focuses more on grammar than vocabulary?

What question had "gonfler" in it?

The balloon one. Where it was someone's birthday. Last one on the first page.

Oh... I know what you're talking about.

I don't remember what I put, though...

Was "gonfler" one of the answers?
What were the other answer choices?

"Gonfler" was one of the choices; I guessed it and looked it up later. "Respirer" was another choice, which was kinda tempting. Since you do breathe into balloons... lol.

I think I put "respirer" on that one.

Doesn't "gonfler" mean "swollen"?

French Dictionary (Dictionnaire franais-anglais)/url gives me:
1 gonfler Verb, transitive (a) to inflate, blow up, pump up; (fig) to inflate prices, swell pride, exaggerate a fact
2 gonfler Verb, intransitive (a) to swell
So yeah I guess "gonfl

Looks like I got another question wrong...

Don't worry, Poseur. You probably got an 800, and I probably got a 200...

:(

Naw, I've missed lots, too. Hopefully the curve is nice...!

Does anyone remember questions with the words "cirer" and "creuser?"

The questions are getting hazier and hazier in my mind so it's harder to remember! :(

The answer to the balloon question is gonfler, and the nutrition bars are found at a pharmacy. I marked the choice (I think D?) that said they were "bon sain" which means:

"sain, ~e /sɛ̃/, /sɛn/ adjective gen healthy, sound;"

which sounds about right.

I answered 84 out of 85 questions; the only one I didn't answer was the one with the beast and the four m-words.

J'ai

for the nutrition bars, what was the most appealing aspect of it?

i said something about it stimulating the appetite

It was choice D I think... something about "le bon sain."

Hey, how did you guys all do?

I got a 720... I am REALLY happy. (I got a 590 in May!!!)

Can't wait to tell ma professeur. :D

710! WOOT was expecting like 650... the one practice I did was a 600!
It's nothing like our french here, we just get taught how to write and we use massive dictionaries in our exams!

670 :/ shouldn't have guessed on like every question. It was also my last of 3 tests. Oh well, at least it's the least important of my subj tests.

I got 740 :D much better than my 620 last time.
is 740 really good? (for top unis) because my other SAT II's are all 800's...
