OCTOBER SAT Subject Test: French

observing surroundings? i don't remember that one

for the aunt and the fish/dinner passage, i thought the aunt didn't acknowledge the guy..."elle ne l'apercu..."
i was almost sure I read that

Oh I thought it said that that she dropped something and HE didn't notice.

Uhmmm for the guy watching people, I said that the lovers were loving each other in silence? Wasn't sure, though. I just saw that they were holding hands and stuff.

I didn't know where he was, though. A cafe?...

Yeah, I thought the answer to the fish passage was "she was indifferent".

The passage about the man observing his surroundings talked about a man sitting on a bench (I think), a couple holding hands, and a few kids making fun of others.

I hope I didn't read it incorrectly... :(

I also said "the lovers loved each other in silence".

For one of the other questions, I put "the kids were making fun of others".

Yeah I put that, too. Since it said they laughed every time someone walked by or something? Or every time one particular woman walked by? I dunno.

Oh,

Was the man sitting in a crowded (fr

YEAH I said that.

Whew! That's a relief...

yea, they loved each other by holding hands or something...
i said the guy was in a cafe because the passage mentioned the guy observing 2 servers

yea, the aunt did drop something...so i dunno anymore, i'm not sure what that was about

if I get around 15 wrong, can i possibly get above 700? (that's my wishful thinking)
why is SAT II french so hard? does anyone know someone who got 800 or close to it?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/3840314-post2.html

I dunno how accurate it is, but it's all I've been able to find.

And remember, wrong answers are -1/3.

Pretty much the native speakers get the 800s.

How do subject tests get curved, anyways?

Is a predetermined formula used, or does the testing population have an impact on the curves?

It depends on the particular month's questions. Not sure if the curves are predetermined (for the Reasoning test, they are, based on the trial questions, I believe) or if it depends on how people do.

How many questions did you guys answer?

I answered all 85, but I've missed at least 9999999999999999999999999 so far...

:(

the testing populations definitely affect the curve...so the only thing is to hope that there were alot of people who didn't know french that took it

xzibit, i'm sure you didn't do that badly...
i answered all but 2 and think i have 10-15 wrong so far...

I skipped 8 and I'm sure I got like half of the ones I answered wrong, lol. (Which is why you guys shouldn't trust my answers! I'm only useful in remembering questions. ;))

Last time I skipped 3 and got a 590. Which means I missed about 30 that I did answer. Lmao. So that means I probably missed about 25 this time. XP Since I would have gotten wrong the ones I skipped... yeaaah.
