Since I’ve received a few emails asking for details, I thought I’d share the latest with you.

The November OCU audition result letters went out in the mail on Tuesday, December 13th. With holiday mail, you should expect to receive your notification within a week.

As has been mentioned previously, OCU is accepting a lower number of voice majors for 2006-07 school year. I have been informed by Mary Mowry that about 10 students from the November auditions have been admitted directly into the MT or Vocal Performance (opera) program. If a student was not offered the MT or VP degree, they possibly could have been offered the Theater Performance degree or the BA in Music degree and some were offered both to choose from. And, unfortunately, some will not be offered admission.

Reauditioning is only allowed if a voice teacher at the auditions requests to see the student again (ie: the material didn’t work well, they were sick, etc). A student would be told this at the time of their audition. It is my understandsing that the voice faculty did not request a reaudition for anyone from the November group. Please remember that requests for individual audition feedback and reasons for denials will not be answered.

If you do have any questions, please address them directly to Mary Mowry as I will be leaving OKC for the holidays and goin’ home! It was great to see so many of the CC students at the November auditions and I wish you all the best for the holiday season.

Don't know if it's the same this year as it was last year, but my d auditioned on Nov. 19, 2004, and received a phone call from her admissions counselor to congratulate her of her acceptance in the MT program on Dec. 23. I know many of you are anxiously awaiting to hear something. Just know that you will end up where you should be! Best of luck and Happy Holidays!

My D just received her acceptance letter today from OCU and is over the moon with joy! Our thanks to all those who post on this board for their help (albeit indirectly as I'm mostly a lurker). Your excellent advice in many areas have helped us immensely. The best piece of advice was to schedule an early audition to a school that is not a top priority. My daughter did this, was rejected from her first school, worked out some kinks and then was accepted to OCU. Now on to the remaining 6 auditions!

Hi..just wanted to mention that OCU is closed for the holidays now thru January 2nd. Unfortunately, no one is available to answer any of your questions right now (and sorry, I do not have info on acceptances, scholarships and such).

You can email or call Mary Mowry with questions that she can respond to after January 2nd. Also realize that she will be swamped with messages and it may take a bit to get back with you. Happy holidays!

I called the theatre department today to ask about the whole January 13th deadline for the scholarships. It is not binding, which is definitely a relief. They only ask that if you choose to go elsewhere, to let them know. So I thought that might clear a few things up for those of us who were worried!

HUGE congrats to your S!! Which audition day did he audition at? I had mine on Feb. 10th -- I didn't realize they would be sending acceptance notification out this soon! Wow. the anxiety has officially set in...

CONGRATULATIONS TO SRW'S SON! Pretty exciting! I know you had a nervous waiting period. I am glad it all turned out so favorably. He got in for the BFA in MT, I am assuming? Very cool.

kegosnell,
Thanks!
he auditioned on Feb 11th, so depending on where you located in the country, you should be hearing soon, hang in there and good luck!

soozievt
THANKS! He is so exited he can't stand it! OCU is his first choice, so there IS joy in Mudville today. Yes it is for MT, although their program gives a BM instead of BFA.
