OCU auditions

We have stayed several places, all very reasonable, when visiting our D at OCU. The Howthorne Suites is probably the least expensive and closest to campus, BUT it is older and we have had some problems with the rooms at times. Two that are nearby that we like (and that serve a nice breakfast) are Country Inn & Suites and Amerisuites. We also stayed at the Hampton Inn when she auditioned, and it was very nice as well.

Just returned from watching S in LW this weekend. A wonderful production except the costumer gave all the girls wigs that didn't fit. We stayed at Comfort Inn at Founders Tower about 3 miles from campus. Other than not being able to close the ground floor rooms's curtains (really weird!- they gave us pins) It was very clean, realitively new and totally smoke free! They had a nice little breakfast all for $75 a night tax included. It is on Northwest Express Way just down from the Penn Square Mall.

The Hampton by the airport is nice as well...and they offer an OCU rate.

My daughter and I stayed at the Hawthorn Suites for her audition. We had a very bad and scary experience. That was in March 2006 and they are under new managment I think. Also know that it is outside entrances, not interior hallways.

My daughter probably will audition in Nov. at OKCU, but in VP rather than MT. Does OKCU admit after each audition, or does the school wait until all auditions are completed before accepting?

they have rolling admissions

Does anyone know of a hotel within walking distance of the audition building? Thanks!

There isn't one within walking distance that I know of. The nearest is probably 2-3 miles away or maybe more.

bump for hotel info

I have stayed at the Courtyard Marriott on Northwest Expressway near Clausen. The rooms are nice and clean and they also offer a breakfast buffet in the morning. They also have an OCU rate - - around $94 a night. Might be a little more pricey then some of the other hotels around that area, but well worth the room and service.

I'd recommend looking on Priceline and pay attention to the locations given there. They normally have given me and my mother GREAT rates (like $60) for really nice hotels.
