Odds at the Honors Program?

I'm a rising Senior from San Antonio, Texas. I've taken all honors courses, and four APs thus far, and am registered to take another 6 this coming year. The EC leadership positions are already earned, I'm just assuming that I'm not going to get impeached or anything. (: And my CS hours are all still works in progress.

Hispanic Merit ___: My counselor informed me that I qualified for Hispanic Merit, and I think that the only other hurdle was GPA, so I'm pretty sure I made HMS.

Hook-ish stuff:
Musical Instruments: I've played the Clarient since 5th grade, but I didn't pursue band in HS because I knew it'd take a lot of time that I felt would be better used in academics. I also took guitar lessons for 2 years 5-7th grade and still play.

I plan on applying to their College of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Where do you guys think my chances fall?

I’d give you a 99% chance of getting into Northeastern, and a 95% of getting into the honors program :)

Being from Texas gives you an advantage (Northeastern has been trying to get more students from other parts of the U.S. for quite some time). They want a diverse honors program (judging by the fact that Honors students are housed in International Village) and they consider the top 10% for it. Your SAT is in the top 25%, your unweighted GPA is in the top half of the range of the weighted GPA midrange (which is 3.6 to 4.1), etc. Their honors ambassadors (see the Honors website) seem to be high-acheiving and diverse individuals, and HMS would put you in that category.

You don’t need SAT IIs for Northeastern, so only submit them if you do moderately well.

Hope to see you there in 2012!!!

I can’t guarantee anything because the stats rise every year, and it depends on your major/college. I can tell you that I had a 3.99 UW, 4.63 W GPA, 2030 SAT, and 33 ACT and was accepted into honors as an architecture major. I can only leave you with the advice of applying EA to increase your chances.
