Off-campus housing

Hi I'm a senior in high school and I start at UF in the fall. Unfortunately all of the on-campus housing has already been taken, so I'm on the waiting list. Does anyone know of any off-campus apartments that are close to the university and that are nice, in a good neighborhood, and moderately priced?

Having been in your position…I think I have some helpful info. First some questions…are you on waiting list for a contract? When did you get on the list? When did you send in application for housing?
Are you looking for housing for a male or female? Currently Windsor Hall has opening for male. Not sure about females(they also have Ivy Hall).
Unfortunately many of the CLOSE on campus housing is taken. If you are looking for a dorm type set up close to campus it’s going to be tight. There is the Courtyard’s which have single bedrooms sharing common area which is close to campus and not a bad price. HOWEVER, it is definitely known as a ‘party place’. If you can handle that then it’s a good option. You could check in to waiting list for Royal Village or University House, both highly recommended. There are other dorm like set ups a little further away from campus…look for individual leasing situations if possible. Some good sites are swamprentals.com apartmentratings.com and hotpads.com. They have maps with properties indicated and you can narrow your search according to type of rentals searching etc. on some of them. Good luck and if you have any other questions don’t hesitate to message me.

You may want to look at 2nd Avenue Centre and The Estates. My D has lived at 2nd Avenue since she was a freshman (3 years). It’s a 7 minute walk to campus so there is no bus involved like so many of the off campus apartments.

check out [University of Florida Off Campus Life](http://www.offcampus.ufl.edu) for help. They’re fantastic!
