<p>My D is transfering to the city (Eugene Lang/Parsons) and is looking for long-term year round housing. Anyone having any luck finding a nice place to live that doesn’t cost over $1000 a month?</p>

<p>Barnard/Columbia are very far from Eugene Lang/Parsons -- Barnard is way uptown (around 116th St) -- & Eugene Lang is way downtown (around 12th St.)-- so basically Barnard students who live off campus are going to tend to be looking in very different neighborhoods. </p>
<p>I think you'll have much better luck talking to students at NYU & Cooper Union.</p>
<p>I have a feeling that if you can't pay over $1000 a month, to live in Manhattan you're going to need to find roommates to split the cost.</p>
