The human mind only reads the first and last letters anyway...

guys I am REALLY nervous about the science. i just looked at a practice book I had and it was SO MUCH EASIER in the book and the person who wrote it considered the practices ones to be HARD. this science was rediculous. though I never even studied for science, I don't know how anyone could do all those questions in 35 MINS or whatever it was. 45 seconds a QUESTION, R U KIDDIN ME, there was SO MUCH READING, the charts were impossible!!!! I left HALF BLANK and put E and C for all the guesses and wasn't even sure on the ones I thought I knew. I wonder if the curve will be HUGE. seems like everyone had a problem. :(
Hopefully SAT scores tomorrow will have all this stress go away.

what do u think the curve will be for the science...how many do you think one can get wrong to get better than a 30ish

I got 2 questions into the gelatin question. 30ish is about 35/40.

Trick of the science: Do not ever try to understand what they are talking about, you can answer the questions correctly without the faintest idea what they are about. Just reference to the graphs and appropriate information. The more complicated the graph's look, the easier the questions.

My proctor drove me nuts! She turned off the lights in the middle of our Reading section for some odd reason. She got our booklet numbers all mixed up and she wouldn't let me throw out my banana peel in the garbage in her room and she told me to throw it out in the bathroom. I asked her where the bathroom was and she ignored me. She kept walking out of her desk to check the time, so that was distracting. I wanted to strangle her!

The science was incredibly hard, the reading, english, and math weren't too bad. The essay was a piece of cake. I can't help feeling though, that I totally bombed the ACT's. Is this normal??

No one seems to have the test that i had. Did anyone have the test with the girl who lived in Korea then moved to the US...there was also a passage about fake patients that help med students.

100%, if you didn't you are either out of it or you deserve teh nobel prize. I think there is a general concensus concerning science, lol.

No, doesnotexist, I didn't, did not exist for me. Sorry, couldn't help it :D ;p

if anyone wants to chat about the ACT's you can IM me at smurfette2692 for AIM

bleh, bad proctors. for the sat, i had a terrible proctor. I always circle the answers on the pg, and then fill in the bubbles when i'm done. she told me i couldn't do that!!! and in the middle of the test, she tried to take of ti-89 away, which is allowed on the sat. and during the test she picked up some trash off the floor a few feet away from my desk on put on my desk!

why would my proctor turn off the lights in the middle of a reading test? That just boggles my mind.

complain to ACT....

what should I say? Is that really bad?

Yes - there is a reason they have a 7,000 page instruction book, they are supposed to follow it word for word. That is wrong, so is the part about not being allowed to bubble in answers later, as long as they are bubbled in by teh time the test is over they have no right to say that. Anything that was irritational and distracting to you, that is wrong. Call ACT, complain, maybe they will let you re-take the test for free if it seriously affects your scores.

My proctor had AC on for the half of time, and then after math section she's like "Oh it's on AC. No wonder it's so cold in here"
I was like "WOW"

When I took it in june, the school i was in had the AC turned off because it was a saturday. With the windows open, it was probably 80 degrees in the classroom. Everybody was sweating and the room smelt like crap. I dont think that school was eligible for the october test date

For the english, I got a lot of No Changes and Omits. For every available Omit question, i think i put Omit except for 1 or 2. For the Rectangle problem, the diagonals cannot be perpendicular. i think that was an answer. i also put the Haiti girl wasnt complaiscent.

Yeah...perp was the right answer, rectangle diagonals are equal in length.

Well, it DOES state that TI-89s are prohibited on the admission ticket.
