i think i got 75 on the averages

so then which one was experimental?

i think i got 75 on the averages

so then which one was experimental?

For the avg problem sum is 75

btw i got the question

okay good i got 75 also. what were the other tricky ones on math?

wow can someone explain this to me, i got 80 for this because i got 60 for the triangle and estimated the rest of the objet's area was about 20....

estimation doesn't always work...

but i split it up into two trianges, (vertically), with both having a base of 10. b/c area = 1/2 b*h, the area is equal to (and let y be the part of the line that is 12 units, but forms the height of the top triange):

(1/2)(10)(12-y) + (1/2)(10)(y)

= 5(12-y) +5y

= 60 - 5y + 5y

=60

Writing

African woman did somthing to draw on African culture while drawing on other traditions?

Was the answer A: leave as is/ no error

Can someone explain why this is wrong:
Verbal - Because the boy was reticent, others thought he was pensive.

Also in verbal. Creole tradition/family/language passage.
The first question asked what "______" meant in context... GENERATED and PRESENTED were two of the choices

thanks ebonytear, i understood that perfectly

The trapezoid one is very easy since you know the diagonals. Draw the trapezoid into a rectangle. Find the area of the rectangle which is 120. Divide that by 2 and you get 60 since it is easy to tell by breaking the trapzoid down that it is 1/2 the area of the rectangle.

i put generated

Jenny I put A for the African one as well. It still sounded horrible to me, but the others didn't seem to fit.

For the SC:
It was : Because boy was ____ , he was characterized as REMOVED...something like that and removed signaled for ALOOF

Answer for Creole was GENERATED

yeah that one was diffidence/aloof

can someone give the context of the creole / generated question? I don't remember... :S

what about the writing question about the woman (Ms. Oliver?) who won the award for Teacher of the Year and what would be a good concluding sentence at the end of the last paragraph? (last question)

and what about the Dragonwings passage? I put that it would be stronger if it focused more on what chinatown was like in the 1920s, and then for the last sentence, i put, instead of writing (guy's name)'s Biography, he wrote Dragonwings....

creole question about Caribbean people rejecting their culture...like the culture they 'created/generated' by the working class, etc.

yeah, i did not like the woman who picked songs for her group that were African but still had other cultures or whatever...i ended up picking this awkward one i'm pretty sure was wrong...but i think A is right...

Ebony, paragraph would be strengthened if author included more about chinaguy's sucessful flights.

Yep your biography one is correct.

what was the "biography" question. i dont remember that

i think i vaguely remember the creole generated question now, but can you refresh me on some of the other choices there were? I hope i didn't answer it wrong! : (

What about the 'writing' question regarding that guy who built airplanes? Something about crashing the second plane he made.

biography question was what would be a good concluding sentence to the Dragonwings section...there was stuff about wanting to find more facts about history of aviation, etc.

i still think chinatown...(explain discrimination? community? b/c the novel is more about that then about 'chinaguy' lol) ..b/c i felt there was already a lot about that one successful flight...oh well

eh, i dunno about the other answer choices...one was presented (already mentioned)

the answer for the chiantown was to explain more about hsi successful flight. his description of his successful second flight was cursory.

d3 is right

It's definitely not Chinatown
