Decision: Rejected (CAS)
stats on previous posts

gahh
will probly end up at ndame tho so i'm happy :-)

How were YOU rejected? With a 4.0 and something near a 1500, that's really shocking.

it really stung.
um, either they sorta knew that it wasn't my first choice? or i wasn't crazy liberal enough? a friend of mine got a 1320 and has a 3.6 w, less ap classes, less ecs etc got in...it was his first choice tho so it worked out well. he's also even more left than i am, maybe that came through in the essays? who knows.
but for those of you that truly wanted to go to nyu and got accepted congrats. :-)

I'm sorry, I hope I didn't come off as rude in my previous post, but I am sorry that you got rejected. Do you really think they factor politics into admissions? I've never heard that before. At least you got into a school that you're happy with, when you think about it, that's all that really matters.

There is no way politics can be considered in admissions, think about it, if they were everyone would lie about it to conform to whatever the school is looking for.

Me personally: Accepted to CAS with merit scholarship, young republican-said it loud and proud on the application. Stats are on the other page in this topic.

They don't care for politics, talent comes from all sides of the political spectrum.

Yeah, I didn't think that they could admit people due to political views

A republican at NYU? Good luck...;)

HA, thanks a bunch Browneyedgirl523, I think I'll be okay. I'm not the bible thumping type of GOP, more the moderate New England type, but you can say I'm right of the center. I was concerned at first. Actually I started a thread on this on Brown forum, another school I was considering, probably more liberal than NYU. The consenus seems that you'll be okay even if most don't share your views. Intelligent people should be able to at least listen to other views even if they disagree.

people are dumb to base personal opinions on politics alone. unless the person wont shut up about them. and i think most people will realize that... so i dont think you have much to worry about!

Thanks Ranisparkle. I've been told NYU has a good active Republican Club, I'll be there. Anyway, if someone is cool, I don't care for politics, they can hang with me.
