Algoss heres what I know about ND and BC. I'm going to BC next year so I'm definitely a little biased, and I also did not apply to ND.

Notre Dame has better nationwide name recognition than BC does, but academically the two schools are more or less the same. ND might be ranked a little higher but at the end of your college career, you will have gotten a superb education at either of them. BC is actually slightly more selective in its admissions, I believe it accepted 31% of its 26000 applicants in 2006. If I remember correctly, ND accepts 35%, but I'm not sure how many applicants they get. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I've heard the Catholic presence is much more apparent at ND than at BC, which isn't a bad thing but is something you should know. One advantage ND might have over BC is that it probably has a stronger alumni base than BC does, although BC's is still very active and strong.

AS for tourguide's football comment, ND has lost their 9 last bowl games, whereas BC has won 7 consecutive bowls, although they weren't the greatest games. Again, ND's name recognition doesn't necessarily say everything.

Boston vs. South Bend is an easy choice in my mind.

I'm pretty confident that you will get into BC regular algoss, you are definitely qualified. Best of luck in the rest of the process.

[ *] why you think you were accepted/rejected/deferred: I took the SATs again in December, so maybe they were waiting on the new scores, also maybe on my senior grades because academically I'm not super strong.
[ *] going to attend? doubtful, I don't think I'm financially capable. and I doubt I will get in, let alone into Connell School of Nursing.

I had sent my ACT scores to BC so technically I didn't need to send my SAT IIs. At the same time, I was applying early to ND and even though they don't require SATIIs, I e-mailed admissions and asked them if I should send my scores (mid 700s). My rep at ND said to send them and I did. I got in to ND -I didn't send them to BC and wondered if that was why I was deferred.

Did you send an ACT or just SAT? If you didn't send the ACT that's most likely why you were deferred.

I hope that I do get in. My SAT's are a little below average, but I am in NHS, environmental club, peer leadership, and Key Club. I am an Eagle Scout and a picked scholar. My rank is in the top 10% and my GPA isn't weighted and pretty high.
