Official 2010 Boston College Acceptance Thread

any acceptance today?

i still didn't receive mine. But today i received Babson College acceptance!
it's funny that i didn't even turn in my supplement essay, mid-term report, cuz i was so lazy to do it, and i planned to give that up.

i don't really know about that school. just kno it has good location, and buz majors.

good luck guys

Think of that as a good thing, piaoyuelingxing. The longer, the better judging by last year's results. :)

i got into babson also

me too! their acceptance package was really nice.

i didn't get anything...

i did ea tho so i found out a while ago

what's the latest count, guys.

=)

Nothing accurate, but I'd say there are about two or three rejections/waitlists to every acceptance, if not more

There would have to be if there are 26,500 applications and they accept around 6,000....

6,000 is their undergraduate freshman class??? idk, that seems a bit much .... =/

They accept 6,000 because not all 6,000 of those people will attend BC.

They accept more than 6000. 31 percent acceptance rate x 26,000 applicants = 8060 acceptances. With a 2000 member freshman class, the matriculation rate is 25%.

Just some stats for you guys :)

That's assuming acceptance rate this year is the same as last, which I'd doubt.

acceptance rates this year seem to have gone down at a lot of colleges...'06ers must be pretty smokin.

=)

There are more applications this year so the acceptance rate percentage would have to be lower than last year

Not necessarily. Chances are that the yield rate also went down. If people apply and get accepted to more schools, naturally the yield rate will go down.

In case anyone here is wondering, here's the run down from my HS so far:

1 Acceptance (EA)
2 Wait-list
1 Rejection

I'm still waiting...but seeing people with 2200 on the SAT getting rejected makes me nervous, my 1970 simply can't compare :( lol

rye890, don't worry! I got a 1970 also but I got in through EA, which according to BC is even more selective than RD. Don't worry.

hmm, perhaps that gives me hope.

I also applied EA but was deferred.

I LOVED BC, I'm already in at northeastern and PC but I would do anything to go there.

The only thing I have working in my favor is that a family friend graduated from CSOM and wrote me a really good rec, so hopefully BC takes care of their alumni. ;)

what was your class rank, etc.? if you don't mind...

Well, a friend of mine from here (Florida) was deferred EA and got their rejection letter yesterday (Monday). I go to the same school and haven't received anything...hopefully a good sign.
