@johnny135 I don’t think it’ll kill your score. I used <a href=“AP Art History Test Score Calculator - AP Pass”>http://appass.com/calculators/art and if you get an average score (70%) on the mc, and you do all the other essays perfectly, even if you get a 0 on that one long essay you’ll still get a 5. And I’m sure you won’t get a 0 (at least, the Ramses one makes some sense), so even if you messed up some of the short essays I think it’ll be fine. What was the other artwork you used for after 1960? The topic was kinda weird for me too :/

@wearyscholar , yeah i used another piece by warhol, the soup cans. i also mentioned his overall views and the marilyn diptych as well.

@wearyscholar thanks for the great link! I used Rebellious silence by Shirin Neshat

I used the Guerilla Girls for one, but I totally identified the wrong work. Right artist(s) wrong work. Think I will still get some for that? For the second work I used Bansky’s rioter throwing a flower. I still don’t know how we could have answered the loss of identity though because my teacher never covered anything like that.

omg i got the rembrandt one wrong on the short essay -______-

@dongkimkr95 I think you maybe referring to Tenebrism, that is the technique more common for the Baroque period and Rembrandt’s works, like Christ Calling St. Mathew…
@wearyscholar I used Friedrich’s Monk by the Sea and Shou Zhen’s Poet on the Mountaintop. Both describe the culture and how the dramatic compistion of the landscape reflects religious and social life- culture.

@jfleit18 ya I’m sure you will still get some partial credit on that work. About the second essay, ya we only learned like 4 pieces from after 1960 and my teacher said even just being able to list pieces from after 1960 was a big advantage because many classes didn’t get that far

@johnny135 We finished the textbook and had time to review but he never mentioned anything about identifying issues with identity. He talked about everything the textbook had to offer and was very extensive. I even googled phrases similar to that and nothing came up. Really weird question.

Hopefully the grading will be more lenient for that 2nd question (i.e. many works, as long as they are after 1960, will be accepted). I think there’s a lot of ways to interpret “identity”, and also there’s probably many works that can be linked to the concept of “identity” even if that was not the original purpose.

Hmm got 30/35 on Section 1, Part A… not bad i guess?

If I used one architecture–Maya Lin’s Vietnam Memorial–and one mixed-media–Judy Chicago’s The Dinner Party–would that still merit a possible nine, or did I need to use at least one painting/sculpture?

…and how did all of you answer #3 on the FRQ section? (Archaic and Classical Greek compare/contrast)

@psutsi , I mentioned Archaic art is more frontal/rigid, and it is characterized by the archaic smile. The Classical one had a more relaxed stance (contrapposto, right?), and it showed more movement (but obviously not as much as a Hellenistic statue might).

Yeah @collegeman5 that’s pretty much what I put too. Also I got a 28 or 27/35 on the mc.

So it was Rembrandt on that one question…on the Archaic/Classical comparison I also mentioned how her figure was much more revealed in the latter. @May 8 I think you should be fine for the examples you used.

Hey!!! So I have a question…
I think I did decently on the multiple choice (around 100 at least or so I hope haha) and pretty well on all the short response. My first long FRQ was fine but the second one I totally screwed up. I wrote a lot and tried to analyze works that I came up with, but I blanked and couldn’t think of a single work past 1960 (dumb, I know, I’m like hello Vietnam Memorial??? but alas). I used a piece on black migration and Mexican heritage from the early 1900s I think and used words to identify them (yeah I blanked on the artist too, so I tried my best and just explained the work). Is there any way I can still get a five? Will I get any credit for the second essay? (Like I still analyzed the worksssss lol). Thank you so much, I’m just panicking! I really wanted a five on this and I’m kicking myself so hard!

@aryaoreo You should be fine! According to this, you could get 100 multiples choice, a 0 on the long free response, and still get a 5. <a href=“AP Art History Test Score Calculator - AP Pass”>http://appass.com/calculators/art

My class barely went through the 1900’s but for the identity question, I used AT&T building and described a site specific piece that I couldn’t remember the name of :\

My class must be lucky. My teacher is a pro at what he does, we go through it so fast and had time to review so much. I’m afraid @jangster that I can’t tell how the AT&T building deals with social issues and identity issues, but I suppose it’s easy to come up with anything about how it was different for its time.
